Bob was suddenly awoken by the smell of burning wood, and immediately noticed that Linda was not in bed. worried sick, he raced through the apartment, but it was empty, now scared for his family's safety, he ran outside and to his relief he found tina, Louise and gene outside, but couldn't find Linda, when the fire department arrived one of them said "there was a woman inside the restaurant sir, is she your wife?"

Bob ran up to the burned corpse, and recognized it as linda, heartbroken, he cried as the paramedics took her away.

All this devastated bob, he barely ate, he barely slept, he practically locked himself in his place, the only people in his life right now, was the kids, and his neighbor, carla.

"It's been a month since the incident bob." Carla said, "just be glad they rebuilt the restaurant, and you've got your life to live"

"No I don't carla." Bob said "my life is buried, at the cemetery."

A week later, bob went to a store owned by vlad, and purchased a double tombstone. And had it placed on Linda's grave, and every Sunday, bob would visit the grave, place flowers and say "we'll be together again linda, someday."

One Saturday afternoon, Jimmy came over to Bobs place "You know bob, with Linda gone there's no way you run the restaurant, you might as well close up, and get a life for once."

"I'm sorry Jimmy, but I'm not going to close it down, I'm gonna continue running it, Linda would have wanted it that way."

"Oh, okay then." Jimmy said, and left when he and carla saw each other, a strange look passed between them.

The next day, bob was paying his respects to linda, but while he was doing so, Carla ran up to him.

"Bob I'm so glad I found you, there's something you need to know. Linda has been carrying on behind your back."

Bob looked at her with confusion, "if you don't believe me, take a look at this, I found it on the ground.", bob read it and what he found was heartbreaking.

Linda,

Last night was truly a moment of heaven, once bob is gone and you collect the insurance, we'll run away and open a restaurant of our own.

Bob was at a loss for words, but that wasn't enough, Carla also said that Linda was drunk the night of the fire, and inadvertently knocked oil into the stove.

Bob stood at the grave with an upset look, then left.

In the middle of the night, bob returned with a hammer and chisel, and split the tombstone in half, after that he, closed down the restaurant for good, climbed up to the roof and... Well, I'll let you figure the rest out.

after that another funeral was held, and Carla was in attendance, sobbing, when it was over, everyone left, except her, Jimmy showed up, placed a hand in her shoulder, and they laughed.

"Our plan worked jimmy.

"I knew it would work carla"

"He sure fell for the story I told him about his wife being unfaithful."

"Hey, we needed to do something, He was going to keep his place open."

"And all of our planning would have been wasted, we could have tied her up and burned down the restaurant for nothing. "

"But, how did you convince him, you didn't have any proof."

"Yes I did, I showed him the letter you wrote to me, I removed my name,added Linda's and said you wrote it to her."

After that, the two walked away, confident that they won.

They couldn't be more wrong.

A few months later, on a dark and stormy night, a hand came out of a certain grave, another followed, and the body from underneath the ground pushed up, got up from out of the grave, and made his way downtown, walking fast.

When it got to a certain street, it peered in the window of a certain building.

Inside, Jimmy and Carla were toasting to their success, when suddenly the door burst open, the corpse entered, Carla screamed while Jimmy stared at it in horror.

"Bob, I- It can't be!"

The next morning , the Belcher kids showed up to pay their respects to their parents, but Bobs grave was gone, when they got to Linda's, they found Jimmy and Carla lying near the grave, with their necks at odd angles, while the tombstone looked as it originally was, since it was put together during the night.

And unless you look real carefully you couldn't tell if the tombstone was split in half.
