Charlotte Mia Thorne looked up at the lebanese beauty sitting across from her, observing how her green orbs were shining with amusement.

The young signorina's countenance reflected her confusion as she tried to interpret what was going on.

They were having their lunch in the Chinese restaurant located a couple of blocks away from the Ellington Company building.

Both were craving for some sushi and there was no other place in the area who could concoct this particular dish as scrumptiously as this restaurant.

Their conversation was soon going back and forth about the various delicacies around the world-ranging from main dishes to drinks and pastries.

At some point, Sarah was sharing a special dessert recipe that originated from her home country, when the ringing of her phone cut her off.

Upon being informed that it was Leonard's call, Charlotte had felt panic starting to rise within her entity as she checked the time on her watch.

Was lunchtime over already? She had thought.

Relief had washed away her doubts upon noting that it was not the case.

The last thing she'd want was to miss her usual punctuality and possibly earn a cold, displeased glare from her employer.

Humph! She is always on time nowadays so it won't be such a big deal, right?

"Leonard," Sarah spoke with a reassuring voice over the phone, "don't you worry. I will take care of it all and you can trust that everything will be as you expect."

Charlotte was still in the dark about the situation, unable to comprehend whether it was something work-related that required urgent attention... or something else.

The phone call was soon over, as Sarah pulled the device away from her right ear. Her chestnut curls bounced forward, framing her face in an exotic manner.

A smile was still adorning her expression when she averted her attention back to the confused cherry in front of her.

"On second thought," Sarah's voice came cheerfully, "let me bake that cake for you."

"H-Huh?" Charlotte's features changed into further perplexity.

Some minutes before, that was actually the proposition made. However, Sarah stated that she is barely allowed the luxury of time with the excess work waiting to be ticked off her schedule.

"Why," Charlotte inquired softly, "the sudden change?"

Sarah giggled. She appeared like a little child who was promised a trip to Disneyland.

"Leonard is planning something big for Katherine's birthday," Sarah explained, excitement dripping off her voice. "And he needs our help."

Charlotte gasped at that.

Her best friend's birthday!

It was going to be on Saturday... that meant two days from now.

H-Holy! Wasn't it a bit too late to organize 'something big' for Saturday?

"Th-That's in two days!" Charlotte exclaimed, "how are we going to manage it in this limited lap of time?"

Sarah chuckled softly as her reassuring eyes locked with Charlotte's hazel-brown ones.

"You sounded exactly like Leo," she said teasingly. "But here's the plan..."
