Becoming A Mean Girl

Chapter 2

"No, no, no absolutely not that is the worst idea ever it will never work and I refuse to be a part of this. Why don't you do it? You're prettier and have a way bigger chance of being popular than I do."

"Amber you're being ridiculous. Come on I can't do it because the study has to be on people other than yourself. Please help me we can watch movies and give you a makeover. It could totally work. You'll be queen bee in no time. Please help me this is a major grade and I don't know who else would help me."

"Fine. I'll help. I really hate whenever you guilt me into things like this."

"Oh come on it will be fun. You can even invite Emily to come with us this weekend when I give you a complete makeover. She really knows fashion so I think she could be a really big help with this thing. Oh I also found this movie that I think will really help you become popular. It's called Mean Girls apparently it's all about popularity in high school. Maybe you can learn something from this movie.

The rest of the week seemed to fly by fast, and before I knew it, the weekend was already here. I had spent the rest of the week studying the movie Mean Girls like my sister had asked me to. I had learned some interesting things from that movie, For example, in order for this plan to work I would have to change from wearing skinny jeans and t-shirts to wearing girly outfits consisting of pink, sparkles, flowers, and skirts. I also learned that in order to be popular I would need to start using the terms "Oh my god" and "That is so fetch." Oh and I also learned that on Wednesdays we wear pink. When I arrived at the mall, Shannon and Emily were already waiting for me at the food court. As soon as I walked up to the girl, Shannon and Emily looked me up and down and then began whispering to each other. The whisper wasn't quite loud enough for me to make out the words, so I just stood there awkwardly rocking back and forth while looking around the mall.

Okay you are in a serious need of a makeover. You will never fit in with the "Popular crowd" wearing blue skinny jeans, a Spider-Man t-shirt, and Spider-Man converses. Your hair looks like a bird built it's nest in there, and you really should wear makeup to help enhance your beauty. You could be really hot if you actually tried." Emily continued lecturing me on my choice of style; She told me that ponytails were not okay to have all the time and after that I kind of just began to block her out.

"Come on Emily, give Amber a break; Let's head over to Rue 21 to get her some new clothes and get this makeover started already." I could tell my sister Shannon was getting irritated. She kept pulling out her phone to check the time. Shannon is the type of girl that wants to get things done. When she has things to do she gets them done, and she does it without wasting anytime. Once we entered the store I could easily tell that I wasn't going to enjoy this very much. Everything in here was way too "girly" and "cute" for my taste. Emily and Shannon took turns handing me different clothes to try on. There were dresses, skirts, pink things, and sparkly things. I seriously thought I was going to be sick.
