[This was my original start, for my story "The name's Karma." before I changed it, to what it is now.]
[THIRD PERSON]
Toxic green eyes stared at a huge variety of displays, numbers, codes and essays of informations. It all seemed strange, almost not understandable and confusing, yet the boy understood it all. Harsh clicking sounds echoed through the room, as his fingers sped across the keyboard, adding loads of new words and codes.
What seemed like a mess of digits and letters for outsiders, was for the boy his everyday life. He found joy and peace in solving riddles and discovering new informations.One of his unoccupied displays started glitching a little and a Caller ID popped up. Eraserhead. A content smirk formed itself on the boys lips, the moment he saw the name. His left hand went over to another keyboard, pressing a button before answering the call.
»What can I do for you, dearest Eraser?«, his voice was static and glitchy, due to a special software, yet his amusement was very noticeable.
Said Hero let out a sigh. Karma. The Vigilante has turned the life of Heroes upside down. With his hacking skills, he was able to get you information on anything in a very short amount of time. This way, he had helped the Pro Heroes quite a lot already, which was also the only reason they hadn't arrested him yet. That, and the fact they knew nothing about the Vigilante. Neither did they know his real name, nor his age nor what his appearance could be. It was, as if he wasn't real, vanishing without a trace as soon as he felt like his job was done.
»We are in need of new informations on a Villain that has appeared a few days ago.«, the ravenette replied with a sigh. He hated doing this; talking to Karma.
They knew nothing about him and he knew everything about them. Quite frustrating and scary, if you ask me. Especially, when you are a Pro Hero. Although, they weren't sure about it, there was a high possibility that Karma also delivered informations to Villains. But that was only a theory.»Name?«, Karma asked, spinning in his chair to another monitor, his fingers hovering above the different letters of they keyboard.
»Noru. For as far as we know, his quirk has similarities to X-ray.«, Eraser sighed again, pinching the bridge of his nose. He'd rather drink some coffee and sleep in his sleeping bag instead of talking to the man.
There was no response besides a faint clicking sound, informing the Hero about what was going on on the other side of the phone.
»Tero Uyama alias Noru. 34 years old. His quirk is called 'Objective sight', meaning he can see through any object, if he desires to. It does not work on living beings. The crimes he committed were; a variety of Shoplifting, robbery of one of the local banks plus holding hostage of a 24 year old girl named Kiro Ryuga.«, came an almost robotic response, startling Aizawa a little. It frightened him, how much he could find out in such a short while.
On the other side of the call sat said Vigilante, staring at the picture of the Villain. There was no readable emotion on his face but his eyes seemed tired. Karma slowly blinked a few times before turning his attention back to the call.
»I'll send you all the important informations, you need to catch him.«, he stated while copying the needed things into a file and sending it to the Hero.
Then, he hung up without saying anything. That was one of his trademarks;
He never talked more than needed and it was only about the wanted informations, never once had it been anything else. It made some Heroes wonder, if it was an actual human being they talked to or some kind of machine, while the actual mastermind was god knows where.Karma thought, it was rather hilarious. Society trying to discover who he is but failing miserably; They thought of him as someone in his thirties that probably had some freaky quirk, like Analytics.
When in reality, he was just the fifteen year old Izuku Midoriya, a plain and boring looking boy without a quirk that had nothing else to do with his boring life.When and why it all started? Well, all this doesn't have some sad or super dramatic backstory. Actually, Izuku was just extremely bored of his life and decided to do some changes. On becoming a Hero, he given up long ago. Being a Hero came with the extreme pressure of not disappointing anyone and saving people. And there were too much rules and laws. Izuku was never one to obey the rules or do what they wanted him to do. He had always followed his own rules and laws, doing what he wanted, whenever he wanted.
You see, when Izuku wasn't sitting behind all these monitors, he was helping the Heroes catching Villains. Never once, had they seen him but they always heard him and his eerie, glitchy laugh when he hid in the shadows, spying on the Heroes and Villains. The only Hero, that has ever seen him, even if it was just for a brief moment, was Eraserhead.
It happened in an dark alleyway, the moon shining strong and bright in the night sky, darkness embracing the city. Eraserhead had been on patrol like always, roaming around the city and catching small Villains. The night went on like usual, until the Hero heard a faint cry for help. Without hesitation, he leaped forwards, storming in the direction of the cry.
The sight before him was horrific; A girl no older than fourteen was leaning, half conscious, against a concrete wall. The ground before her soaked in red liquid just like her top. A knife laid next to the puddle and a strong scent of iron hung in the air. A purse hung loosely on the girls shoulder and slowly slid down, as she slipped in and out of consciousness.
What seemed like four to five meters away, laid another body, their chest barely moving. It was clear, whoever that was, was on deaths doorstep.
As Eraser inspected the almost lifeless body, he called 119. The poor soul was almost unidentifiable; blood leaking from under him, eyes half closed and shallow breath. His body was bent in unnatural angles, making the Hero almost vomit.A faint thud had gained his attention. A slim figure was crouching over the body of the girl, feeling her vital signs. The ravenette was immediately on guard, not knowing who they were or what they wanted. A dry, glitchy laugh had echoed through the night, sending chills down the Heroes spine.
The person had turned their head to Eraser, still laughing.
»The name's Karma.«, as soon, as these words left the mouth of the unknown person, they had vanished again.Turns out, the man was a criminal, wanted for murder. The girl had been one of his newer victims that had managed to hid in said alleyways from him.
Once the poor girl had regained consciousness, she told what had happened;
She was on the way home from a sleepover with her friends that had to be cancelled for her, as her father had called her to come home immediately. Although she didn't explain any further, as to why her father did that. Anyway, she was walking home when this man grabbed her from behind, his hand over her mouth to prevent her from screaming. With his free hand, he slammed a knife in her waist. Somehow, she managed to still let out a scream of pain that happened to be heard by the infamous Vigilante.After that, everything was just a blur to her but it was enough for both Heroes and Police. The man was put in jail and the girl stayed in the hospital for recovery. Sadly, she passed away a few days later in her sleep.
That was the first and only time, the Vigilante was seen in person.
[Oh and in case you didn't know, 119 is the emergency number in Japan!]
