I Wonder What It Feels Like To Go Broke On Fish

Xera's P.O.V.

Stereo has been staring at me with a shocked expression on her face, "Robby is a wolf? Dang, a hot guy like that of course there has to be something wrong with him." Then she lets out a hearty laugh, making me smile in return.

Lucas, however, wasn't going to let it go that easily. "Did you know that he was a wolf when you let him move in with you?"

The smile gets wiped off my face, but I'm not going to lie to him. "Yes."

Stereo continues to laugh, "Wow, she's growing up fast!"

Feeling the need to defend myself, I state "I'm older than you and I'm almost 18 soon anyways. Plus, I live on my own and it's always nice to have other people to keep me company."

"But that's not the point!" He yells at me in return.

Stereo must have been thinking the same thing as me because at the same time, we both ask, "Then what is?"

Lucas crosses his arms and doesn't say anymore to me. So I decided to go to Petsmart to get some goldfish for the relaxation room at home. Stereo used to have fish in her room but I forgot that they were there and they kind of....died. But on a more positive note, I'm buying her a new set of clothes and more fish to make up for it. I pulled up to a line of stores and Stereo went running into the store with Lucas quick on her heels. I got out and went to the bathing suit store right next to it. I figured that they would be in Petsmart for a while and would want to go swimming when we got back home. So I walked in and was immediately surrounded by people wanting to help me. I pushed my way through all the girls trying to help and spotted a girl in the back of the crowd. She grabbed my wrist and pulled me to her with more force than I thought she had in her.

"She's my friend so I'll help her here, thanks." Dasia stated.

All the other people walked away looking kind of disappointed.

I let out a breath of relief, "Thanks so much, I thought they were going to trample me."

Dasia laughs as if she was used to it, "No problem. They tend to do that to everybody who walks in here. I guess that's what happens when too many people work here."

I smile at her and pull her into a hug "Yeah. But I never thought that I would run into you here. Since when do you work here Dasia?"

We pull away from our hug, "Well, for a couple weeks now. But it's spring and me and you just got our new schedules at school so we don't see each other much anymore."

I nodded. We have four quarter semesters in our school and we just finished our second one, so that means new schedule. "Yup, it's stupid. When do you get out of work? Want to come over?"

"I get out in about an hour so sure. But if you're here then it means that you are going swimming when you get home. Wanna wait until I get off?" She inquired.

"The more the merrier. We can stop by your house and let you change if you need to." I asked, wanting to give her some time to relax from work.

"Sure, and let's get you set up with some bathing suits. How many do you need?" She asked, getting into business mode.

After a moment's thought, "Maybe about six I want to say."

Dasia seemed shocked, probably thinking they were all for myself, "Six?!?! Why so many?"

"Because I want a new one and I should get Lucas and Stereo a new one too. Plus Robby doesn't have any and he just had two friends show up last minute." I said, shaking my head.

She started picking through the racks of bathing suits, "Okay.... so tell me about this Robby guy. I know Stereo and Lucas but Robby sounds like fresh meat."

I nod and start to tell her the events from the past couple days. She laughed at how I found him and then teased me about not being able to leave a lost puppy alone. About thirty minutes later, my phone started ringing and I answered it only to find out that Stereo has all the fish she needs. To my surprise, Lucas got a rat. I figured that it was going to be dead soon but maybe I'm wrong. I walked through the line with the clothes and headed to Petsmart. Stereo had a cart filled with bags of fish. To tell the truth, I don't even think I can mix that many fish in a tank without them eating each other. So I told Stereo to go find a tank that has separation barriers inside a tank. She skipped off happily. Lucas walked up to me holding a box which I figured to be his rat and looked at me.

"What's in the bag?" He asked, probably already knowing what it was.

"You and your sister are both very nosy, you know that?" Hassling him a bit.

" ....what's in the bag?" he asked again, determined to get the right answer.

Deciding this was a battle I could let go, "Bathing suits for later."

"Oh. Swimming sounds fun." He stated happily.

"Yeah that's what I thought too. Let's go find Stereo before she spends all my money because I'm almost out."

Lucas and I walk towards Stereo who places a Beta fish in the cart. I walk by a brochure stand and grab one of each of the brochures and place them in the cart so it's easier to tell which fish get along.
