(Taija)

Finishing up with work, I walk down the street alongside my purple streetfighter counting the money that I made today. So far I've made $168, that's not half bad for a high schooler. Down the street were cars parked together, I already knew who those cars they belong to. We have been friends for the longest, my last name is Lane, the Lanes and Torettos have been at it for the longest but Tony and I are friends, he knows I don't follow in my family's footsteps. My phone rings and it's my father, Keith Lane

"Hello father," I say in a boring tone

"Now is it that any way to talk to your father?" Oh Lord, here he goes "What did you call me for, I don't have any money to give you" That's a lie but my father has enough money to feed a country

"We all know that's a lie, are you still hanging out with that Toretto boy?"

"Tony and I are great friends Dad, him, Dom, and the rest of the Toretto family accepts me for being a Lane, I'm not following in your footsteps"

"We'll see" that was the end of the call, what does he mean by that? Ever since mom died, I've been staying with the Torettos and since my family disowns me for hanging out with a Toretto, they took me in.

Cisco spotted me from down the street and called my name "Hey Taija, over here"

The group waves hi and Echo daps me up "Wassup girl Tony was just telling us about his 'Toretto' speech"

"I'm about to break Dom's record set on this very road, becoming the next great street racer" Tony gets out of the car and I walk over to the car just looking at it, putting my motorcycle right by the truck

"You realize all those times they mentioned, your car blew up," Cisco tells Tony, this car looks like it's rusty maybe since the tires and rims make it look new, I can tell the difference

"This time will be different, I was born to win" I didn't hear the rest because of this loud roaring of this car. Speak of the devil, it's Mitch. That little fetus has always picked on me for some reason and I never knew why "Sup kids, the king of the road is here"

"More like king ass," I say and Echo and Frostee snickers "I like that joke" Frostee fists bumps me

"I got room in here for a queen" Mitch shows me the inside of the car and I can see Tony glaring at him "Taija doesn't want to ride around in a car with a picture of your mom on the front"

"Plus I'm not a queen, I'm a goddess" I take out my ponytail holder to reveal my kinky brown hair bouncing and shaking it out "You better tell him girl" Echo claps behind me

"What's up Mitch? Moved from act thief to jet rustler" Cisco and I check out Mitch's ride, where did he get these jets?

"Maybe don't worry about it. Hey Toretto, let's see what that soapbox racer can do. After you lose I'll let you detail my car, the closest you'll get to a winner and maybe take you out on a date, sugar cube?" Mitch leans over the car edge to get in my face, ugh he should get a date with better toothpaste

"Yeah well I'm pretty sure Taija doesn't want to go out with you and after you lose, you can wash my car, it's the closest you'll get to a shower" Tony laughs and puts his arm around my shoulder

Mitch frowns and the engine of his car rumbled as he got ready to race "Hey you're not really about to race him are you?" I grab Tony by his shoulder and fiddle with my fingers

"Don't worry, I wouldn't let you go on a date with him, I got this in the bag, don't you have faith in me? Remember I'm a Toretto and-"

"You were born to win, man how much I've heard that" I chuckle and he gets inside his car starting it up and lining up on the street with Mitch
