Goodbye

I feel like Ashton has been avoiding me. Today was Olivia's last day here and he had hardly talked to me, much less look me in the eye. Was he ashamed of what he told me? He shouldn't be!

Now we were at the airport, we were all seeing Olivia off. They had all gotten quite attached to her, especially Calum, they were all desperate for attention, as I would put it.

"Oh my God I'll miss you guys." Olivia said while hugging Michael and progressing towards Ashton, Luke, Sophia, and me. She stopped hugging when she got to Calum and just looked him in the eyes. They seemed to be having a silent conversation and it was quite awkward for the rest of us.

We all thought that was awkward but it didn't help when Calum leaned in and kissed her. He kissed her for a good two minutes until Ashton coughed, making them tear apart. We were all dumbfounded.

"Well I can speak for all of us when I say, what the hell!" I nearly yelled.

"Surprise." Calum said leaning backwards, slinging out his arms, and dragging out his word.

"Yeah we're pretty surprised." Ashton said. I would look at him but I couldn't help stare at the scene unfolding in front of me.

"Olivia what were you thinking, you're probably never coming back here." I said staring at her in disbelief of her stupidity.

"But that's the thing, Michaels parents said that I could come down more because it would be good for you to have another American around sometimes." She said looking down.

"This is literally the stupidest thing you've ever done." Luke said to Calum.

"Sorry." Hey both mumbled looking down at their feet and let it go silent. Please tell me it was a one time thing.

"Flight 349 to L.A. Is now boarding, you will have two minutes before the doors shut, thank you and enjoy your flight." A flight attendant said over the intercom and you could just hear her fake smile through the speakers.

"Well, I don't have a say in your relationships, but I do get to say goodbye." I told Olivia stepping forward and hugging her. my actions were repeated and this time Calum kissed her cheek and hugged her tightly. He also whispered something in her ear but no one could make out what he said.

And with that, she was gone.

"Well this is depressing." Sophia said.

"Yeah." I agreed.

"On another depressing note, we have school tomorrow." Ashton added.

"Wow that lightens the mood." I said and finally looked at him. He had bags starting to form under his eyes, probably from taking care of his brother while his mother slept peacefully, he had on a Metallica tank top, and he had on black converse and skinny jeans.

"Did we have summer work?" Luke asked.

"I don't believe we did." Sophia answered.

"No we didn't." I clarified.

"Good, I sure as hell didn't do any thing." Michael said, getting in the car, Ashton, Calum, and I following suit, Luke and Sophia getting into his and driving off.

Calum had gotten into the passenger seat leaving Aston and I in the back.

"Michael remember to drop me off." Ashton said looking out the window, his back slightly towards me.

"Yeah I know." Michael said and the rest of the trip was silent.

"Bye Ash." Calum murmured, obviously upset about Olivia leaving.

"Bye." I said quietly.

"See you tomorrow, man." Michael said, leaving the car in silence yet again. My phone buzzed.

'Starbucks girl (Sofa)
You home yet?'

'Michael's chick.
Nope. just dropped Ashton off. Why?'

'Starbucks girl (Sofa)
We're going shopping in 30 minutes so text me when you get home.'

'Michael's chick
What if I don't want to go?'

'Starbucks girl (Sofa)
To bad.'

'Michael's chick
Don't you and Luke have some couple-y shit to do?'

'Starbucks girl (Sofa)
Nope. No weaseling out of this.'

'Michael's chick
Fine, were pulling in the driveway.' I texted her and put my phone in my pocket heading up to my bathroom to do my makeup that I didn't bother doing when we had to wake up at 8 to drive Olivia to the airport.

I finished in perfect timing because as I got downstairs I heard the door open and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford exchanging hellos with Sophia.

"Hey." I said and smiled at everyone while I grabbed my purse from the hook that I left it on last night.

"Hey, ready to go?" She said and looked at me.

"Where are we even going?" I complained

"I told you the mall. Now quit complaining."

"Fine. By Mr. and Mrs. Clifford!" I said and waved goodbye walking towards the door.

"By girls have fun, don't spend too much!" Mrs. Clifford said and with that we were gone.
