As promised, When we had set my bags down and Michael showed me around, we set out for the city. You could see the city from Michaels house, so you think it wouldn't be that far, but when you are new to the city, apparently you have to take the "scenic" route.

"Michael can we just go to city, weve been in the country side for thrity minutes now." I begged as i turned to him.

"Fine then we shall go to the city." And with that he turned up the radio and we headed to the city.

When we got there instead of driving around Michael parked on the bottom floor of a parking garage and got out.

"What are we doing?" I asked, getting out of the car with him, because obviously we weren't driving.

"Its more fun to walk the city. It gives you more time to see things and the streets end up pretty crouded." He explained and with every word he said walking sounded better and better and before I knew it we were walking down the street and I made sure to make a mental note as to where we parked.

"Hey do you mind if we get something to drink?" I asked. We have been walking in scilence for a while and it felt good to be the one to break the scilence.

"Oh yeah sure. You might also need to transfer your money from American money to Australian money." He said and I groaned at the thought. Couldnt i just use my debit card for everything?

"Ugh. Well I mean I have my debit card? Please tell me that still works." I said hoping to hear a yes or it should.

"I'm not sure but I guess we'll find out. Here lets go here are you alright with here? I'm sure your jet-lagged so you could use some coffee." he told me as he pointed to the starbucks that was across the street and i felt my mood pick up.

"Yes," I said a little to fast, "I mean, I  would love some starbucks, thank you." I said and tried to play off the fact that I just made myself come off as a compleat "white girl" to my roomie.

"Okay so I say you try and pay with your card and if it doesn't work I can cover it." he said. God he was so nice. I can already tell we are gonna be friends.

As we walked and the barista looked up she smiled and came out from the counter to give michael a big hug as well as telling him how good it was to see him and that it had been to long. Mean while I was brushed off to the side and left there awkwardly like a peice of meat in the middle of vegitarians.

After she let go of Michael she turned to me and held out her hand which I causously shook.

"Hi, Im Sophia. And you are..?" she asked carrying out the word are.

I awkwaardly smiled at her and looked away and she looked back to Michael who was looking at the menu but diverted his attention to us once Sophia cleared her throat.

"OH! Right," Michael exclaimed, "Sophia this is Briana she's participaiting in the foreign exchange program, she's staying with us." then he turned to me, "She's a bit shy really." he explaied and I looked up at the two of them, and i finally decided to speak up. I need' to be more confident.

"Hi." I said, "I'm Briana, Im a senior. Do you go to Michael and I's school too?" i asked.

"Yes I do." she said in an as-a-matter-of-factly voice. "Also I feel bad you have to live with him," she motioned to Michael who wasnt paying attention anymore. "He gets pretty annoying."

"Yeah when i was being attacked by his parents he didnt even step in to help, he just laughed." I explained the moment I got here and she laughed as well.

"Oh!" she exclamed, "You guys probably came here to get something didn't you? Let me get back to work, I'll get you both something and then I'll take off." she planned.

"It sounds good," I told her as she got behing the counter, "I'll have a vanilla bean frappe with two pumps of rasberry please." I finished and michael got the same thing claiming he didnt know what to get.

After we got our drinks, my depit card worked, Sophia got us a tabel and we sat and talked. When I say we I mean me and Sophia, Michael just played on his phone until it was six o'clock. After he told us we needed to go i handed my phone to sophia and she put in her number and contact as "starbucks girl" and said to leave it like that. Then we left to go home.

On the walk back to the car Michael spoke up.

"I dont have your number." He said nudging my elbow with his.

"I didnt know you wanted it so badly." I replied, content with my sassy remark.

"Well i mean we kind of live together. I mean what if you were home alone and someone started trying to break in to the house, you dont know the emergency number here, and you wouldnt have anyone to ca-" I cut him off.

"Jesus Christ here," I handed him my phone and he put in his munber, "Good lord, you have one hell of a dark side." And with that it was all music untill we got back home.

I already liked it here.
