Your eyes suddenly open wide upon the feeling of water rushing through your nose, out of surprise you sit up and look around the surroundings, still not fully awake.

"W-where am I?" You say to yourself and face scrunched up in disgust upon finding that the lower half of your body was submerged in sea water.

Wait what?

You look around once again..
There was an unfinished bridge on the left side of where you woke up from, you hear the chattering of folks as you blink like you don't believe what you are seeing.
But perhaps you didn't.

You did miss the way they were looking at you, though.

Everything looked quite familiar, but you couldn't place a finger to it somehow. And for who knows how many moments of walking, you suddenly find yourself in a forest surrounded by ridiculously tall trees, the sunlight made its way through the thick barks and bushes; Time seemed to slow down for you.

You feel dizzy, the weariness seeping into your bones, the cold creeping under your skin. You fall to your knees, and briefly hear the sound of footsteps on the grass coming towards your direction.
With the sun reflecting off of your eyes you see him.
Whatever he might have been asking you, you did not hear; you did not comprehend, you just wanted to sleep.

Why did the world suddenly grow louder all of a sudden?

"I don't get why you're keeping that kid here, she's barely even alive." Zabuza grunts as Haku replaced his bandages, the beautiful boy gave the barely living girl a glance; one that was filled with sadness and pity.

"..." He does not answer Zabuza and instead focused on wrapping the injured swordsman.

Zabuza rolls his eyes, this boy was too good, too pure, too soft for the world; too kind, that he even picked up a stranger bleeding to death and attempt to save her, nurse her back to health here.
What Haku had seen the swordsman did not understand, all Zabuza had been was him carrying your fragile and internally bleeding body here.

He knew enough that what was causing you to spill out blood like that was from the inside, he just didn't know what exactly. How you even survived until now was a mystery to him, maybe you were just so stubborn to refuse death.
Or maybe you had someone you wanted to go back to, or maybe not.
He does not miss the way your fangs grew with your fever, the way that your face contorted in pain under the noon sun from the window.

He pitied you, maybe that was why he bothered to save you; he thought you were one of those helpless little rabbits he usually had in his arms, but maybe you were.
He knew he couldn't bear to leave you there when you looked at him.

You wheezed out a cough as you heave for breath, legs kicking the air to get rid of the irritating feeling of something being trapped between the caps of your knees.
You feel gentle hands on you, your upper body being lifted up slightly as a cup was tilted to your lips.

"Shhhh...." A sound of someone gently hushing you had passed by your ears, you could listen to it forever, as long as you don't feel the throbbing of your head anymore.
You take sips of the water, the person who held it for you adjusting it often so you don't choke.
"Careful." They whisper as you cough from the water running to the wrong pipe.

"It hurts." You croak out to them, your voice even more hoarse than what you could remember.
The person freezes for a moment, "You're going to be alright." They reassure you, and you catch glimpse of their face.
"You're really beautiful." You utter to them despite the burning pain below your lungs, at least their face would be the last thing you see before you meet your demise, you optimistically thought to yourself, even though half of your brain had been boiled from how hot you were.

They felt rather familiar to you, but making yourself remember it proved to be a nuisance for your body.
"What's your name?" Your eyes roll towards their figure.

There was a pause, as if they were hesitating to tell you.
"Haku."
The headache comes back tenth fold.

The third day was the time you had miraculously gotten better, but you felt awfully hungry, so hungry that Zabuza looked like a decent meal; you shudder in disgust at your gluttony.
You immediately wolf down the meal that was given to you, not wasting even a second to stop as your thoughts turned voracious.

"Where's Haku?" You softly ask after you finish the meal.

"Out gathering medicine again, why do you ask?" Zabuza somehow did not sneer at you, you figure that maybe he's just hostile to his potential victims.

"Nothing." You reply.

You had no energy to complain and become an epitome of cursed memes again, you were just tired.
One thing for sure, you wanted to save these two.

You forcibly get up from the bed and headed to that washroom you had seen from the corner of your eyes; you smelled bad and you just wanted a bath.
Looking at yourself in the mirror, you suddenly had the urge to look at your beautiful teeth. And boom, to your surprise, you gained fangs like Ban from the Seven deadly sins.
"Who knew I'd look this epic?" You grin to yourself before stripping off your clothes and ran the bath.

Thankfully you were awfully quick with it, and just in time after you have finished changing into the spare kimono Haku had he was there treating Zabuza again.

"Good morning!" You start with a grin on your face, flushed pink but rid of illness.
Haku smiles at your presence.
"Good morning." He greets back. "I assume that you're feeling well now?" He asks you, that beautiful smile that you awfully wanted to selfishly preserve and protect being directed to you.

"Yeah! Oh and uh... Thanks for saving my life, is there something that I can do for an exchange?" You ask him, hoping you could at least be of some help.
Haku seems to hesitate for a moment; "Well, you can start by washing the bandages in the corner." He tells you, and you immediately get to work.

Haku knows that he could use your innocent demeanor as a glamour to avoid more suspicions from the ninjas before, he was honestly surprised that you were so willing to do anything that he had said.
He couldn't brush off the fact that you recognize him, even before he had given you his name.
There was that glint in your eyes, the one he knows all too well; you wanted to save him from something, you knew something neither him or Zabuza knew, but your actions somehow don't give it away.

"I'll save you, no matter the cost."
