Present Day
IN WALK THE TWINS
There weren't many situations where Julia was at a loss for what to do, but this one, was definitely one of those situations. She'd just been her normal self, walking down a school hallway when all of a sudden, two boys identical in every way save for the glasses one of them wore stopped her dead in her tracks.
"You're Julia Black right?" one asked
"Your mums' name was Lucille." The other said.
"Aunts' name, Evelyn."
"18 years old."
"But almost 19, don't forget that part brother."
"Well of course, I figured you'd say that part."
"But you said you would."
"I said I'd say her age."
"But almost 19 is part of the age category."
Julia watched for a little while as the two brothers, most likely twins bickered over what was an apparently scripted meeting. Overhead, she heard the bell ring but apparently lost in their own little world, the twins didn't hear it. At a clear loss at what to do, she side-stepped them and walked straight to class, hoping for the swarm of students to swallow her whole, giving her back her anonymity she was rather proud of.
Later, those same two boys were waiting outside her classroom, clearly more than a little annoyed at her abrupt and swift exit from their earlier introduction. They eyeballed everyone walking out of the room, looking for Julia.
More than a little put out, Julia turned to an acquaintance whose name she forgot and asked for them to lie, saying that she had already left the room ages ago. When the twins were finally gone, off searching for her someplace else, the acquaintance turned to Julia, a small smile on her face.
"Why are you hiding from those two? Most of year 11 drools over them. They are kinda the fantasy for most girls old enough to fantasize."
"I don't even know them," she trailed off. "Ahhhh~"
"Forgot my name again, huh?" the girl said, blue eyes filled with amusement.
"Yeah, what was it again?" Julia responded, doing her best to sound a little sheepish, social etiquette and all.
"It's Kahli, Julia. I can't believe you still don't remember; how long have we been taking this class? The whole year?" Kahli laughed.
"Sorry Kahli. But who are those boys anyway? They ambushed me in the halls before class and started prattling off facts about me, sounding more than a little stalker-ish. Pretty much everyone in the hall was looking at me, glaring at me."
"You mean to tell me they came up to you first, not the other way around?"
"uh, yeah?"
"No wonder everyone was looking at you three, they were probably jealous."
"Jealous?"
"Yea! The girls jealous of you for grabbing their attention and the boys jealous of those twins."
"Pfft, doubtful."
"It's true. You really don't get out much do you?"
"Not really." Julia admitted. "You still haven't answered my question. Who are they?"
"Nathaniel and Theodore Trianni. It's disgraceful you don't know. They're more popular than almost every other boy at this school."
"Don't get out much, remember?" Julia teased before walking off in the opposite direction, intending to purposefully skip her next class with Mr Toranki. Accidentally burning the school to the ground from anger was not exactly on list of things to do today and with how on-edge she'd been the last couple of days, it was a clear possibility.
