I jogged down the street playing with my bag of Mips. I really needed some new pixie toenails for my hair de-tangler potion. I entered the potion material shop and trotted down the isles full of ingredients like shredded dragon scales, unicorn hair, gnome intestines, and finally pixie toenails, size small. I grabbed a can and handed it to Gi, who was in monkey form.
“While were here, I should probably get some more things Gi. What do we need?” I said, looking absentmindedly down the isles. I went through the frozen section and looked through the selections of different livers and hearts. Dragon hearts, elf hearts, pixie hearts, unicorn hearts, but the thing I saw next was what made me drop the pixie toenails on the floor and have the glass can smash open. They were selling Larka hearts.
Who would do that to someone? Who would kill a Larka?
I pulled Gi away from the frozen shelves and covered his eyes with my body.
“Oh! That’s right! I need, um sprite wings! Yes that’s it!” I grabbed Gi’s paw and dragged him towards the miscellaneous isle. I grabbed some sprite wings and a new jar of pixie toenails and headed towards the Mip register.
“Hello. Did you find everything you needed today?” the cashier asked me cheerfully, taking my items.
“Um, yeah.” I said looking to make sure Gi was close by.
“Your total is going to come to fourteen Mips and thirty-three Meeps,”
I pulled out the money and handed it to the cashier. The bags of my purchase appeared on my arms.
“Have a good day!” She called after me as I hurried through the door, wanting to get away from the Larka hearts.
I jogged back to my small beach house with Gi right on my trail. I entered through the light blue door and put the bag of items down on the counter.
What do you even use sprite wings for?
Gi looked at me and I knew he was saying
“What was in the freezer?”
“Oh nothing… not important…” I mumbled. “Umm Gi, can you go get me my small caldron? I’m going to start making my hair de-tangler potion.” I said quickly changing the subject. He sighed and walked on his hands (he was a monkey) and went to fetch my caldron.
I put the sprite wings in a cabinet and waited for Gi to come back.
He entered the room with my caldron.
“Thanks Gi! Here I’ll take it.” I rushed over and grabbed it out of Gi’s arms.

I heard a knock on the door when I was bottling my potion.
“Coming!” I yelled, rubbing the excess potion on my clothes.
I raced to the small door and pulled it open.
There stood a young woman, blonde hair pulled into a unicorn tail on the back of her head. Her clothes were singed and she wore a small amount of armor. She had goggles resting on the top of her head and she was holding a blue letter.
“Hi.” I said the dragon rider.
“Hello. You’re Brea right? I have a letter from uhh Parlin Academy?” She said reading the return address on the letter.
“Ooh! Yes! Thank you!” I said taking the letter out of her burnt hands and looked at it in disbelief.
“My friend went there. She went on a really hard quest and her body was never found. Her Larka was found shot. If I were you I would get rid of your Larka. My Larka is nice in my job. I He likes helping me deliver mail with my dragon.” She said the last part addressing her eagle Larka. I frowned.
“I’m sorry about your friend. Thank you for the letter though. Have a nice day.” I rushed slamming the door in her face.
“GI! I FINALLY GOT THE LETTER! WE CAN GO GET THE SUPPLIES! WAHOO!!” I shouted jumping up and down in the middle of the living room.
I tore open the fancy envelope as soon as Gi entered the room in his favorite form, a cheetah. I pulled out the long list of items. The letter read
