The sound of his keys jingling as he pushed open his front door had Katsuki cringing slightly, struggling to haul in the new canvas he had bought in the spur of the moment. It was much too large for his small, one bedroom apartment, he knew that all too well, but the moment he had seen just how much room he would have to paint, he just couldn't resist. Although, he knew he'd have to sell the painting when finished, as he wouldn't have anywhere to keep it. The painter sighed as he pushed it onto his small balcony, propping it up against the wall and staring at the blank canvas, mind running with several ideas for what he was going to paint. After a few moments, the Omega shook his head, turning on his heel and heading back through the glass door leading from the balcony. His blond hair hung uselessly around his face, quickly tying his already short hair up as to not get paint in his soft locks and slowly pulling an apron over his head to cover his clothes, reaching back to loosely tie it in a messy bow. The artist huffed, rolling up the sleeves of his knitted, gray sweater before grabbing a handful of paints and paintbrushes. Painting was his only form of income, what with turning out as not only quirkless, but an Omega as well. Everyone looked down on him, it was a miracle he had any clients at all. Most people thought of him as a curse of sorts, who could possibly want an Omega that didn't even have a quirk?

It was already looked down upon for people to be quirkless, as many believed they were a biological malfunction, a defect. As for Katsuki, his life only grew worse when he presented. The Alphas in school tortured him, always attempting to use him as an object for their pleasure. He got so sick of it over the years, and whenever he couldn't bear the harsh truth of his reality, he resorted to art. It helped him through high school, and when he had to watch his dreams fall apart before him when he ended up getting rejected from the school he had yearned to be in since he was a child. UA, a prestigious school in which only accepted in the most talented, outstanding students with only the most breathtaking quirks imaginable. He knew he didn't have a chance at getting in, how could he? He had no quirk, he was a weakling, just an Omega. He was barely fit to be a dam to future pups, how could he protect anyone? The male sighed softly, sitting on his stool out on the balcony and staring sadly at the canvas before him. He'd already long since accepted that he wouldn't ever be a hero, so instead he opted for painting some of the pros he found admirable. Deku, for example. He was the symbol of peace, the number one hero. The green haired Alpha had always been on more of the sweet and shy side, but when he was protecting innocent citizens from evil, he looked like he could kill just about anyone with just his pinky finger. The greenette has been the subject of his admiration for years, since he was a kid, in fact. Even though he was double his age, the Omega always seemed to relate his struggles to the man. The Alpha was born quirkless, much like himself, and faced many bullies that tormented him throughout junior high. But unlike Katsuki, the man had attained a powerful quirk and made it into UA, becoming All Might's successor and becoming the new symbol of peace.

The blond slowly lifted his hand, touching the rough surface of the canvas as he twirled his pencil around in his opposite hand. What was he possibly going to paint on a surface this big? He groaned, now realizing he had wasted money that could have been used for something more practical. A movement in the corner of his eye caught his attention, ruby eyes snapping up to the roof of his apartment complex with curiosity. There, perched on the edge, sat a figure with food in their hands. The Omega squinted, making out a few distinct features like his unruly curls, dark freckles, and the iconic hero costume that would have any other person squealing in delight. What the fuck? Pro hero Deku was sitting atop his apartment building eating lunch. Was this a common occurrence? Had he never noticed him before, or was the man just trying to find somewhere quiet to eat? Katsuki bit his lip, ogling at the man for a few more moments before turning back to the canvas with determination shimmering in his crimson orbs. He grinned, sloppily sketching out the figure of the hero sitting on top of the roof with a sandwich clutched in his hand. The twenty year old man sat back to look at his work after a while, chest bubbling with pride as he stared at the drawing.
