The Warrior and The Dragon King (Fantasy!Katsuki Bakugou x Reader)

Chapter 2

"Mom, I'm back!" I hear a gasp followed by the sound of running. As I'm slipping my boots off, I'm pulled into a tight hug and almost fall over, "Did you get accepted?" I sigh and hug my mom back, "Not quite yet." She releases from the hug and gives me a confused look, "Izu and I have to go on a mission before we're accepted." This earns another confused look from her, "Well, what the mission?" I give her a nervous smile, "Retrieve swords stolen from the guild by a witch." She stares at me in disbelief, "They're sending you two on that kind of mission?!" I cringe slightly as she yells, "Yes. We accepted that mission. We're going to head out later today. We want to go to the next town over since Witch's Grove is closer to Fallkirk, and they have shops with better gear." I meet her gaze, and she nods nervously, "I understand. Please be safe when you do head out." I nod and pull her into another hug, "I always am Mom." I pull out of the hug and yawn, "I should really take a nap before I head out." I make my way into my room and take my gear off and flop down on my bed, "Wake me up in a couple of hours, please?" I curl under the blankets and feel my body relax, and my eyes slowly shut.

"(N/N) keep up! We are almost to the cave!" My small legs move quickly to catch up with the two boys. "Kacchan, are you sure we should be out here? It's getting late." The blonde scoffs at the other boy and continues to walk ahead, "If you don't want to see the treasure, I found you can leave Deku." The green-haired boy lets out a weary sigh but trots to catch up to the blonde. 

The three of us round a corner and see a small opening in the side of the cliff, and Kacchan goes in first while Izuku and I share a nervous glance then follow him in. It leads into a wide-open room where there sits a chest and some tables covered in different papers and weird gadgets, "Come here, you two!" Kacchan stands next to the chest and gestures for all of us to open it together. With all three of us working together, the chest opens and reveals countless gems and gold coins, "Haha, I knew there'd be a bunch of treasure here! Come on; you guys, let's grab some to take home!" Crimson eyes light up as he reaches in and starts to fill his little satchel, "Kacchan, I don't think this is a good idea." Izuku speaks up as his green eyes flicker around the room, nervously, "Huh. Why not?" He gulps and grabs the blonde's hand, "What if this is someone else's treasure?" His hand is shoved away, and crimson eyes glare at us both, "So what if it is? I found it." 

"Tiny brats come to take my treasure." My hair stands on end, and we all turn to where the voice came from and see a set of eyes glaring at us from the darkness. The eyes move as we hear the sound of feet dragging on the cave's floor. We can start to see more of a face that holds a wicked smile on it, and I see a long hand reach towards us, "(Y/N)" My heart races as the gravelly voice calls my name, "(Y/N)!" I shake and want to run but can't.

"(Y/N)!" I jolt up and breathe quickly. I glance around and see my mom staring at me, confused, "Are you ok, sweetie?" I nod my head slowly and feel my face as tears roll down my cheeks, "I had a nightmare about when Izuku, Katsuki, and I went to the cave in the forest when we were five." She nods her head, understandingly, "I remember. I'm so glad you all got away from that, Hagraven, ok." I rub my arms subconsciously and feel the raised skin of my scars from Bakugou and sigh gently, "What time is it?" My mom looks at me for a second, "It's around 3." I stretch out of my own grasp and stretch, "I should probably head over to Izuku's so we can head out." I stand from my bed and begin to put my vest on over my shirt and tighten it. My mom leaves the room and comes back in after a minute or two and hands me a sandwich and a bowl of soup, "You need to eat before you head out." I nod silently and grab the food. I hadn't realized just how hungry I was after this morning. I take a big bite out of the sandwich and hum happily, "Fank you." She laughs and shakes her head, "Don't talk with your mouth full." I roll my eyes and finish the sandwich and make my way on to the soup.
