The car ride heading to Vanessa's apartment was filled with silence. After Lin had gotten off the phone with a very pissed off Vanessa, he boxed up their pizzas and called a driver to come get the two. While they waited, he was on the phone with his publicist, trying everything he could to get the photos down. He was bummed when the general answer was that even if they managed to get the photos off of the main gossip sites, they were still there. At the same time, he was ignoring all of the texts that were coming in from various family, friends, and colleagues. His main focus was the privacy of his daughter and the wrath he would soon be facing from her mother.

Emilia had vastly different worries than Lin. The young girl had her head rested back on the headrest, her eyes closed. Her head was pounding. If there was one thing she knew for certain in life it's that being on the other end of a mad Vanessa Nadal was never a good thing. The combination of hearing her mom through Lin's phone and Lin's face reaction at the same time, told Lia all she had to know. She hated that she was the cause of their first possible fight as a couple. They could be over before she had even been told they had started!

Lin paused from the heated email he was writing and looked up at his daughter, a somber look on his face, "I'm sorry you've been pulled into this mess."

Lia's eyes opened and she looked over at him, "It's fine. It's not the worst thing in the world to have your picture on Buzzfeed." She replied with a smirk.

"It's not fine," Even without Lia having the knowledge that Lin was her father, he didn't want her to get into the mindset that the media following her because of him was okay. "The things they are writing are crap. You shouldn't have to deal with that."

"It could be a lot worse," Lia pointed out. She had seen even worse if she scrolled her instagram feed. The things that her classmates were saying were even moreso salacious than the media. She wasn't going to tell Lin that though. "It's not like its Reynolds Pamphlet status or anything..."

"Fair point." Lin laughed, humored that his kid would have that response to being in tabloids. His kid. He didn't think the phrase would ever grow tired of that phrase, "But, you didn't ask for any of this, so we're going to find a solution for the future."

Lia loved the way that sounded. We're. It was like they were a newfound team, and especially with hopefully the reveal soon of his relationship with her mother, that excited Lia.

The car soon arrived at Vanessa's apartment, who was already home. She had left the office early once she had ended her phone call with Lin.

Emilia was met by a tight hug from her mom as soon as she and Lin entered through the door.

"Mom, I'm fine," She exclaimed as she was being squeezed, pulling her cast arm out of the tight hold. She felt even more awkward knowing Lin was behind them watching the whole ordeal. Vanessa released her grip but not before giving Lia another once over.

"Lia, go get a drink to take your next dose and head to your room, please," Vanessa's eyes were now directed towards Lin who was in their doorway.

"But mom -"

"Emilia, please don't argue with me right now," Vanessa said, her tone of voice worn out, but left no room for debate.

"Lia, don't take your medicine,"

If looks could kill, Lin would be on the floor based on the glare Vanessa was directing at him, "Lin, now is seriously not the time to be telling my kid what to do,"

"She can't take her dose yet." Lin interjected, as he walked into the apartment. He knew the explanation wasn't going to be in his favor, "She didn't take her last dose until one. If she takes it now, it will be too close together."
