Chapter Thirty One

Hailey Pov

I stopped in my tracks and just started back at her flabbergasted from what I had just heard. Confused? She was confused? What exactly was she confused about, how to kill me or whether she should make it quick and painless or whether she wanted me to suffer before I joined the afterlife. I was about to say something when I heard a loud thud come from the other side of the door on my right. Both our heads had snapped towards the door and began to approach it slowly, Lexi moved closer to me and got in a fighting stance preparing herself for whatever was behind that door.

I reached over and reluctantly twisted the knob opening in the door. Once it was opened all we could see was darkness. I felt a gush of wind push against my ribs causing to fly backwards until by back hit against the wall. I felt all the oxygen get knocked out of my lungs as I tried to get back up on my feet. Lexi rushed over to me and helped me up.

Lexi: "Well, it isn't everyday you see someone as strong as you get thrown into the wall" I dusted myself off and straightened my posture

Hailey: "The hits keep coming today" I said feeling my frustration start to build "I can sense it's power, whatever it is, its stronger than a normal supernatural" I took a deep breath

Lexi: "But not as strong as an Alpha" we locked eyes for a second as if she was scanning my brain for what my next move was going to be "We need to stick together" I nodded my head making my way next to her as we both faced the literal darkness ahead of us.

Elder Joseph: "Don't think you two little girls are an actual match for me" the voice said walking out of the darkest "Well, well, looks like we have a traitor in our midst brother" making my heart start to race

Elder Daniel: "Well it seems so" the second voice spoke soon after

Lexi: "Do you know these people" she said turning to look at me in shock

Hailey: "Believe it or not, but I was not told about everyone and everything that went on between the Elders" I said keeping my focus on the two men in from of us measuring them both

Elder Daniel: " I am Daniel, and this is my brother Joseph" he pointed out casually with a sarcastic grin plastered on his face making me roll my eyes in irritation

Lexi: "Well, I am Lexi and this is Hailey, and as you can see we are in a bit of a hurry so if we can get this over with and be on our way that would be of much help" she said returning the sarcasm making me laugh under my breath which did not go unnoticed

Elder Joseph: "I think it's best if we teach these two some respect brother" he said taking a step forward and was startled when we did the same

Hailey: "You see that was an extra elective in on of the courses I was offered but it seemed a tad bit on the I don't give a shit side" I said and lunged at them without a second thought

I tripped Daniel and went straight after Joseph. Pushing him back in the room I heard a loud crash, I felt hands on my shoulders but in the next second they were gone, I looked back to see Daniel against the wall I had flown against earlier and Lexi was now standing behind me

Hailey: "Thanks" I mumbled, she nodded and faced back at her opponent, as I did mine. I waled into the room, applying pressure in the palm of my hands as I brough them closer to each other waiting for them to build, as I walked into the room the door had shut behind me

I instantly closed my eyes and expanded the energy in all directions, when I opened my eyes the lighters hung on the wall had lit up and the entire room was clear as day. If I couldn't feel the Elder's energy signature, I would have thought that I was the only one in the room.

Hailey: "So is invisibility your hidden power" I spoke watching every inch of the room "I heard that every Elder has at least one special ability" I said loud enough hoping that Lexi could hear me on the other side of the door "It's no fun if you don't answer you know" I said trying to focus in where the energy is strongest "You know I have an ability of my own" I closed my eyes and let the energy rise to the top

I felt my entire body heat up as my blood started to rush through my veins. Then it hit me, he was right behind me trying to mask his energy, but it was no use when I was in this state. Without thinking I gave my body full control to do as it pleased. I turned around and grabbed him by this throat catching him off guard. Finally showing himself, he stared at me wide eyed in disbelief

Elder Joseph: "H-How did y-you" he stubbled over his words staring me straight in the eyes "Y-Your eyes t-they are-"

Lexi: "Beautiful aren't they" she said leaning against the door post watching us amused "It looks like the clouds before a thunder storm" she said making my grip tighten around his neck "And the reason why I love comparing them to thunder clouds is because when she gets pissed off, you can see the lightening in her eyes before they shocking-"

Before she should complete her sentence, I had snapped his neck. His body fell to the floor, we watched the color drain from his eyes, making sure he was dead we dragged his brothers body back into the room and shut the door as we left.

Lexi: "You could have at least let me finish my sentence back there" she said pouting like a little child

Hailey: "It seemed like a perfect end to me" I said shrugging making her roll her eyes at me and fasten the pace to catch up to the others
