Upstead Admit their Feelings during covid

It was a sunny Sunday afternoon, quite innocent bearing in mind they were in the middle of a pandemic. The only thing that wasn't bright was the fact that Jay had been on a ventilator for a week.

Hailey slammed the stack of files she had to look through on her desk, causing Hank to peek out of his open office door. He could see that she was stressed, even anxious. Will had announced to the unit that they wasn't sure what would happen to Jay.

Before Hailey had even opened the first file, Her phone buzzed, Will was calling..

"Will is everything okay?" Hailey quickly asked
He chuckled
"What's funny? Is Jay okay?" She asked
"Jay is fine, he can come off the ventilator now, he will probably wake up within an hour or so"

Hailey quickly put her leather jacket on and Voight knew what was going on, he could tell by the relieved expression on her face. Jay was waking up. So he shortly followed while on the phone to several other members on the unit, who were just coming back from an undercover, but they had to share a vehicle to seem less suspicious.

Hailey was first to arrive at med. followed by the unit. Hailey sat down with her hands running through her blonde hair. Vanessa slowly sat next to her, not wanting to break Hailey from her thoughts.
"I know your worried" Vanessa whispered  "It's hard because you love him" she added
"Of course I love him, he's my partner" Hailey said with a warm, worried smile.
Did Vanessa know?

Hailey slowly opened the door to Jays room.
"Hailey you know I hate hospitals, you gotta get me out of here"

Hailey pulled up her mask after she had pulled it down to speak to her colleague.

"I'm afraid I can't do that" she chuckled

"Jay when the put you on a ventilator, I thought I might lose you, and that made me realise, that I wanted to tell you something.."

He let out a small grin.
Before Hailey could start to say what she had been waiting to tell him, Jays phone buzzed.

However he let his partner continue.

"I love you Jay, there's always been a part on me that knew I did. I always have jay.

"Hailey Anne Upton, I love you too" he smiled

And for the next few days, Hailey stayed by his side, until he was discharged.

I kinda want this to be the reason they get together in season 8! Maybe Hailey gets Covid, Jay has been through too much already! :((
