Chapter 13: Split Up (Pt 4)
A/n: This is the final chap for this arc. Hope you enjoy.
3rd Person Pov.
The plan was simple. Well it was simple because Fuutarou couldn't think of anything else. But, in the end, it was simple. All the quints had to do was act and really show Mario that they weren't happy. It was easy and Mauro would at least take notice that somethings up. The quints also had Fuutarou's phone to communicate with him. (Fuutarou is using a landline phone that he has in his apartment.) The quints would contact him there if they had any questions.
The day after Fuutarou met up with Miku, the quints started to put the plan into motion. It was a Sunday and Maruo was home today. He decided to make breakfast for everyone and he did. He cooked up some eggs with bacon and once he was done, he called the quints down. Itsuki, Nino, Miku, Yotsuba, and Ichika all went down the stairs in that order without saying a word. They all had gloomy expressions on their faces and were not in the mood to talk."Ohaiyu." Maruo said.
Yotsuba was the only one to mumble something that sounded like Ohaiyu back.
"I prepared food for all of us. Come to the table." Maruo told his daughters.
The quints all dragged their feet over to the table and plopped onto a seat. Once they were all settled, Maruo said a quick prayer while the quints just listen. After Maruo was done, the quints all started to grab their own servings of the food cooked for all of them.
"So," Maruo paused in between, "how was your Saturday?"
There was no reply.
"Ok then." Maruo muttered to himself.
They all continued to eat in silence.
"Is there something wrong? You aren't talking as much as I remember." Maruo asked.
'He really does care for us. Fuutarou was right.' Miku thought. (Fuutarou told Miku that Maruo does care for them, just he shows it differently. I forgot to add this in the last chap.)
"Nothings wrong." Ichika replied quietly.
"That didn't make sense. You're not talking, you can tell me what's happening." Maruo told his daughters.
Yotsuba was about to say something but was then cut off by Maruo.
"Wait a minute, let me guess. It's something about Uesugi, isn't it." Maruo said.
The quints all looked up at the mention of Fuutarou.
"Look, I know you all love him but, I don't think it's a good idea to be dating him. What if that gets in the way of your studies? Then what?" Maruo said.
"We could still learn at the same time. We were able to make him like us while still learning so I think we could make it work." Itsuki said.
"But having a relationship is hard, especially with 5 girlfriends." Maruo said, "also I'm not too sold on the idea of Uesugi dating 5 people at once."
"He can make it work, we all have faith in him. We will all also help him out." Miku replied.
"You won't give up will you." Maruo said.
All the quints shook their heads no and Maruo sat back thinking.
"You're lucky that I do care about you girls. I will meet up with Uesugi today and I will see if you can still keep your relationship with him." Maruo told his daughters, "But you have to finish your breakfast."
"Papa! We're not little kids anymore!" Nino yelled in that annoyed tone.
Maruo chuckled.
The quints were all internally happy that their step dad would give Fuutarou a chance.
