Chapter 1: Character Development
In order to write a good book, you gotta have ahh-mazing characters so that you are able to make the reader care about them. Nobody wants a to read about a person with no personality! It'd probably be as boring as taking a crap!
Point is, Boring characters= boring story.
Before writing your story, you should be able to tell every detail about the character you are going to write about.
You want your character to as realistic as possible and to be able to do this, you have to remember the five 'P's': Physical, Psychological, Personal, Personality, and Practices.
Physical:

Don't be afraid to add more to this list if it feels necessary. Finally, know you character's way of speech, mood, and behavior changes according to who they are with.
Also give your character contradictions and conflicts to spice up the story a bit. And last but certainly not least, know there influences and motives.
Now you have created an ideally, realistic character ready to be put in action.
