Chapter 2: City Development

When writing a story, an important thing to think about is the city it takes place in. This plays an important role in any story that's trying to get somewhere.

Remember, it doesn't always have to be real, it can be made up. Also another thing to remember is that you don't always have to some up with some random ass city/town. It is TOTALLY fine to copy a it from another book because, come on now, who wants to think up an entire city.

But obviously your here so you are! Any who, here are some things you need to think about when your creating a city/town.

Places:
Schools-
Library-
Monuments-
Malls/outlets-
Parks-
Homes-
Downtown/Uptown-
Hospital-
Stores-
Diners/Restaurants-

People:
Mayor-
Sheriff-
Neighbors-
Coworkers-
Colleagues-
Elders-
Nurses-

Environment:
Humidity-
Smog-
Climate-
Business-
Urban-
Business-
Secludedness-
Small/Big-

If you have any issues with trying to come up with a name just use one of these:
Huntsdale
Lyndale
Pineridge
Willow Falls
Red Oak
Honey Island
Greenwell....

and of course if any of these aren't working for you, you could always take an existing name of a city/town and change up the words. For example if you have a city named Mountain View, another word for Mountain is Hill and another for View is Sight. But since that is a little too obvious, you called change it into Hillsite Springs or Hillsite Waters.

Whatever you end up doing, just be creative with it and you'll have a perfect city in no time.

Now you are ready to start writing about your ahh-mazing city/town with your ahh-mazing characters

Hopefully this was helpful for any of you. If you have any questions, concerns, or simply need advice I'd be more than willing to help.

Also if you did find this useful in anyway, remember to tap the star to vote.
