"There are some things you have to learn about being the Rajaaka of someone of my type and I can certainly teach you everything you need to know. Being my Rajaaka may not be easy. I'm a very powerful man in my world ... um ... like a prince in your human world."

"Are you a royalty?" Gun asked, looking horrified at Off.

"No." Off laughed. He could see the concern on Gun's face.

He seemed to be more concerned now than when he found out he was a vampire.

"In our race there is no royalty as you know it. We have vampire tribes spread all over the world. Each tribe has its territory. No vampire can enter without permission."

"What if they do?"

"They are facing execution."

"Seriously?" Gun groaned. "What if it was by accident?"

"They have the right to present a case, seek refuge or clemency, but they can still face execution. If another vampire enters the territory of a tribe, he or she must report immediately to our security. Failure to do so can guarantee death."

"That's excessive, don't you think?"

"Not at all, Rajaaka. There are many rogue vampires in the world, those who refuse to submit to the rules set forth by our council, about keeping ourselves hidden from human sight, to keep our species safe, and to keep humans safe from us. Many of those rogues don't care if humans are harmed or killed."

"They can do that?"

Off ran his hand through Gun's hair. He sounded annoyed and a little worried but he understands, Gun needed to know all those things about life in Off's world.

"Our council has strict rules on how to treat humans. Why do you think I operate this company? One of our research departments developed a blood substitute several years ago. We are the largest supplier of this blood to the vampires of the world. That prevents us from drinking from humans, which is prohibited, except in exceptional circumstances ."

"But ..." Gun flinched a little. "You drink blood from me."

"You are my Rajaaka, Gun. That makes you special. Only I can drink from you and I could never harm you. I take your blood to sustain my life and to consolidate my bond with you."

"Then you won't have a problem drinking from me, right?"

"No, Rajaaka, I will have no problem drinking your blood."

Gun sighed in relief making Off's member stiffen. He could only guess that Gun was relieved that Off could keep drinking from him.

He could barely control himself with that thought.
