" to create light "
_______________
LYRA MOVED BETWEEN the Burrow and Spinner's end for the remaining weeks of the holidays. However, she took home in her old room at twelve Grimmauld Place for the final week. Sirius invited James to stay for the week, under the protection of the Order.
Lyra was curled at her desk, slaving over pieces of parchment in the fleeting candle light. Her thoughts poured onto the stained paper. Writing alleviated some of the pain and trauma, but not enough.
Sirius, James and Remus sat around the small fire in the sitting room, reminiscing in the childhood the night before Lyra returned to school. "I felt terrible keeping things from her."
Remus smiled from behind his mug, "You physically had to, Paws. But the vow is over now, you can tell her everything."
James laughed at his old nickname and rubbed his weary eyes, "She's already figured most of it out, my little angel can run circles around me."
Sirius chuckled quietly, mulling over Lyra's antics, "She's a good kid, and like us, she'll have to fight a war."
"As a teenager." Remus sighed heavily, draining his mug, "Everything is fucked up."
James pushed his glasses back up his nose, knocking her head back and groaning. "When I sighed up for this parent gig, I didn't think my little girl would be in danger of a psychotic murdering wizard Hitler."
Sirius snorted, a few drips of butter beer escaped from his nose. The three men laughed heartily.

Lyra pulled her father through the entrance to Platform nine and three-quarters once again, laughing at his slight apprehension. The train was already billowing steam, telling the witches and wizards that it would be departing soon.
Sirius and Remus lugged Lyra's belongings onto the train after their quick goodbyes. James blinked away a few tears that built in his eyes.
"Don't cry, dad!" Lyra whispered into the embrace, "Because you'll make me cry and I spent ages doing this eyeliner."
Her father gasped out a laugh and wrapped his arms around his daughter tighter. "Just don't die this year, pumpkin."
Lyra hit her father playfully and squeaked when he lifted her from the ground. Despite his daughter turning sixteen in the coming week, James couldn't help but spin her in the air like he used to when she was younger. Lyra squeaked and gasped for breath when she laughed with tears dressing her cheeks.
"Stay with Gran of things take a turn for the worst," Lyra said before she left for the train, "Or use Athena to contact Sirius and stay at Grimmauld Place."
James nodded and offered a watery smile, "I promise." He pressed a kiss to her forehead, "Someone's waving you over, I'll see you soon, Pumpkin."
