"f-fine, idiot. i never even really liked you that much anyway,"
you watch as the girl sitting across from your friend struggles to find her words, and you feel a pang of pity for her.
"now, that's a lie," tooru smiles, looking through his wallet. "it's been fun, miku," he leaves a 50 on the table and taps on the bill. "i got it, i feel bad for breaking your heart,"
"you wish-"
"meanwhile," he interrupts, snaking his arm around your shoulders. "my girlfriend and i are going somewhere fun! ready, babe?"
"yep," you let your hand slip into his rough palm, fingers intertwining which each others', a familiar feeling the two of you shared too often lately.
"so it was true,"
"what was?"
"that you just pretend to date girls and then show up a month later with a girlfriend from another school, to tell me we weren't together at all in the first place?"
"miku, we weren't dating,"
"oikawa, it's been a month of going out, talking, and you even kissed me. what was i supposed to think?"
"mmm, i don't know. but that's why i'm doing this. i have a girlfriend, i can't see you anymore. i think you're getting too attached,"
miku flushes red with anger, not being able to understand. they had been dating, hadn't they? he had kissed her when he was walking her back home just last week.
"your boyfriend's a cheater," she mumbles under her breath, not daring to meet your eyes as she addresses you.
"sorry, come again?" you look down at her cowering, pathetically bent head with a sneer curled on your lips. oikawa smiles a secret smile in approval.
"i said- your boyfriend cheats on you. he's kissed and dated so many other girls while he was supposedly seeing you,"
you flip your gorgeous (h/c) hair behind your shoulder and smile a dazzling smile at the girl. "listen here, mika, was it?"
"miku,"
"okay, miku-chan. i've been seeing tooru for almost two years now, i've heard everything they say about him. and he hears everything they say about me, too. we just have a mutual understanding and established boundaries for what's cheating or not," you ignore the horrible cringing feeling inside you as you recite the nonsense you practice speaking so much.
"i-"
"tooru, baby, let's go," you stride out the door, long legs carrying you further and further away from the confused and hurt girl he played with.
"(y/n), that was so good!!" oikawa excitedly jumps up and down. "you should TOTALLY become an actor!!!"
you frown, tilting your head slightly. "eh. it wasn't bad, but-" you shudder. "i hate doing that to everyone,"
