We sped through the streets in her machine. She went around every corner like she knew exactly where she was going. How would she know where I live? Has this suspicious woman been following me?
"I've known of you for many years, Elsie. Please don't fret. We have been waiting and searching for you."
She spoke out suddenly in the silence. The words were frightening. I had no understanding on what she means or how she must've read my mind.
In a shaky voice I responded, "How did... you know... what I was thinking?"
"Oh, I didn't, I could jus tell on your face."
We halted. She shifted the machine into what I assume is off. I peered up into my building. The tan outside is so bland in the sunlight but I suppose the windows give it shine. She stares at me from the other seat for a second or two before taking the keys and exiting the vehicle. She pulls my door away, motioning for me to exit as well. I cautiously step out onto the curbside.
"You're home. I'll keep in contact with you Elsie. I'll be around, I'll find you."
"I don't understand. Who are you, Siobhan?"
"I'm just a messenger honey." She looked at me softly, reaching to grip my shoulder. Her hand sent shivers through my shoulder, something I had never felt before. She's got some type of magic touch to her, but I still can't comprehend how she's so special.
Before I knew it, she had disappeared in the distance with her auto. I turned towards my building and sped inside. The frontman nodded as he buzzed me to my room. The elevator attendee slid the door shut and pushed the tiny button to the 8th floor. As we came to a halt, he tipped his hat at me as I left to my loft. I opened the door to my parents and some of their acquaintances conversing around the dinner table.
"Honey!" Both of my parents called as they saw me, "come sit! We made dinner!"
I approached the table, it was fancy, as if they were having a dinner party, but for what? I don't recognize any of these strangers at the table. There was three men in dapper suits and four women in fluffy dresses. They all stared as I sat in my seat. I was in a flowery dress, very bland compared to them. My parents had fixed my plate for me.
"Everyone this is our daughter Elsie!" My mother shared.
"Elsie, these are our new company shareholders!"
My parents own a company? I don't recall them owning a company...
" Mother, father, may I inquire what company?"
My father looks to me across the table as he speaks, "We are now proud owners of a distribution company named Kelt."
I wonder what they distribute? And to where...? I have multiple questions over my life currently. Everything has changed since I've met Siobhan tonight. I tried to rush through my dinner plate, after the conversation, all of the shareholders shot rude stares in my direction. I became very uncomfortable, I just wanted to go to my room. I excused myself, washed my dish, and rushed to my room to recollect myself.
I fell onto my mattress out of exhaustion, I was simply taking a short cut home, why couldn't it have gone the way I planned? Siobhan knew so much about me, yet I know absolutely nothing about her. Where did she appear from and where has she gone? What type of messenger?
Thinking back, her appearance astounds me. Her blonde hair close up was sparkling as if she was some type of angel, her eyes weren't just blue, they were the ocean. Her skin was as if it was speckled with the stars from the night sky. Shes unworldly.
