I know I just got a little emotional with the mention of Bianca, but to be honest with you, I still can't shake off the feeling that she had died 7 years ago.  I mean, Connor was right.  She did seem to say by just looking at you that everything was okay.  It has nothing to do with Connor.

"Okay, Leo, trith or dare?" I asked.

"Dude, you know how brave I am.  Dare!" he said.  He sounded too definant that he would get past this one.

"Okay.  I dare you to make Festus breathe fire across the forest, then say it was your fault."

I had him now.  He could only control Festus, and everyone knew that if he did something wrong, Leo was to blame.

"Dude, Chiron will kill me!" Leo said.

"A dare's a dare'" I said.  There was no turning back now.

Leo went down to the forest.  He had Festus practically bounding behind him, expecting something really special.

"Uh, okay, Festus.  I don't care if you want to do this or not, but I want you to breathe fire to the forest," he said, nervous about the consequences.

Festus made a series of clicks and whirs, almost as if he were saying, "You seriosly want me to do that?!"

"Yeah, I know you don't want me to get in trouble, buddy, but I have no choice, and neither do you.  So let's go.  On with the flames."

Festus looked just as nervous as Leo.  But, boy was this going to be good!  He started to breathe white hot flames, that extended all the way to the treetops.  Dryads, tree spirits, started to melt away from the trees, grabbing any container they could find to put out their trees.  Naiads came from the river, spurting water from their mouths, trying to help out their friends.  Tavis, Connor, Percy, and I were laughing hysterically!  We definitely couldn't help it, but soon we all ran away as Chiron, the activities director centaur, galloped over to the scene.

Leo stood there, expecting that we were going to cover for him.  But, that was part of the dare;he had to blame himself.

"What in the gods' names has happened here?" he asked.  The rest of us hid behind a bush so Chiron didn't see us, but enough so Leo could.

"Uh, I kinda accidentally set fire to the woods," he said, hoping that Chiron didn't send him to the stables to clean up for the rest of the week.  "But it was an accident.  Festus and I went in there to do a quick guard check, and I just went ablaze."

"Well, I understand, now that you have explained  the problem thouroughly.  I will leave you now, Mr. Valdez," said Chiron.  He got lucky this time.
