As Taylor followed Niall’s car she tried to keep her distance, knowing things could get messy if he caught her. She didn’t want to seem like she was snooping; she knew it was exactly what it looked like though, so it would be difficult to explain if she did get caught. Niall pulled up outside a warehouse about thirty minutes out of town, and it now started to get much more risky. She considered turning back around but she had come too far now to just give up.
So she parked her car in a street nearby and found some bushes to hide behind. It wasn’t a completely clear view but it was good enough to still make out Niall’s face as he entered the warehouse. From then on it was a waiting game, Taylor ended up on her phone, flicking through her twitter feed as she grew impatient. It wasn’t until she heard a door slam shut that her head shot up, her eyes immediately on Niall as he helped an obviously injured and struggling Harry back to his car. She wanted to run over to them, make sure they were both okay. But all she could do was watch.
Harry looked completely out of it, very dazed as Niall put him in the passenger seat. Taylor could barely make out the blood smeared on his face and once white shirt, but it was definitely there. It scared Taylor a little bit as she wondered what she was getting herself into with Niall and Harry. Did this have something to do with why Niall cancelled on her the previous night? Taylor needed more answers before she continued to make assumptions. All she knew was this was incredibly suspicious and she wasn’t going to let this go.
She waited a little while before she headed back into town. Partly she was still a little too shocked by what she saw to immediately react and get to her car, but she also didn’t want to leave any chance of Niall and Harry seeing her. When she did get back into town, it was too late to go back to school, so she headed straight home, hoping her parents weren’t there so she could think of an explanation as to why she missed the majority of her school day.
She got inside and was glad to see she was alone. Taylor headed up to her bedroom and unpacked her school bag, setting her notebooks on the desk so she could catch up on her assignments. Her phone vibrated beside her and she picked it up, reading the message that appeared on the screen from Niall.
Hey you ! Party tonight, want t come?? I’ll pick you up at 7 !
Taylor was hesitant in going. Most of the time she wasn’t too good at keeping secrets; and this was one she definitely needed to keep to herself. But on the other hand, it may be just the place she needed to get answers or at least some sort of insight into what was going on. Her parents would probably be super mad but she could worry about that later. She texted Niall back saying she would come, and then got onto her homework.
When Niall texted her three hours later to say he was waiting outside, she was adding the finishing touches to her make up. She had gone all out tonight, choosing a mini skirt with a sparkly cardigan to match. Her hair was curled and for her make-up she had gone for a smoky eye, something she didn’t usually go for but tonight she wanted to look amazing. Add some black pumps and she was ready.
When she saw Niall she became nervous, hoping not to slip up in anything she said. Or fall over in her heels, either one would be a disaster. Niall’s mouth gaped open at the sight of Taylor, and she began to blush.
“Hey.” Taylor smiled sweetly as Niall opened the car door for her, but not before pecking her cheek softly.
“You look amazing, Taylor. Wow.” He leaned over the seat in the car to give her a hug, which proved to be a little difficult but still manageable.
Taylor was now starting to calm down; maybe this wouldn’t be hard after all. “Thank you. You look good too.” A simple compliment from the both of them started a light conversation as they travelled to the party. She found the house very familiar, considering it was the same house where she had gone to the previous party and where she had met Niall. Since it was Harry’s house she knew he would be here, which worried her a little. But at least this time she wasn’t so lonely, her hand finding Niall’s as their fingers intertwined. She didn’t realize how tight she was holding his hand until he looked at her with a worried look.
“Everything okay?” He concernedly asked, and Taylor just nodded, forcing a smile as she stepped into the house that all of a sudden brought back way too many memories. The first person she laid eyes on was Lara, who was usually attached at the hip to Harry but was surprisingly standing alone. She immediately saw Taylor, throwing a glare as Taylor became more anxious. She hadn’t had anything to do with Lara since the last party, but she knew this girl could ruin her in an instant.
“I um, I’m just going to go to the bathroom. I’ll just be a sec.” Niall nodded, letting go of her hand as she headed upstairs. She hadn’t seen Harry yet, not that she wanted to or anything… or maybe she did. Her head was all over the place as she took a breather in the bathroom. Her eyes wandered around the room curiously, taking notice of anything that seemed out of the ordinary. Anything that could explain what she saw earlier that day.
Taylor was startled when the door flew open, Harry appearing in the bathroom as he locked the door behind him. “I’m surprised you showed up tonight.” Harry admitted, moving closer to Taylor who was sitting on the counter.
“W..why? Niall invited me.” She stuttered, unable to move away from Harry as his arms rested on the counter either side of her body, trapping her in.
“Don’t play dumb, blondie. I know you followed Niall today. Do you have any idea what you’re getting yourself into?” Taylor’s eyes were wide open, in a state of shock. How did he know? She had to make sure he didn’t tell Niall, otherwise things could get messy.
But this was Harry she was talking about; when it came to him she knew everything came with a price…
