Klaus was pacing back and forth while everyone waited for Ester to finish bringing his memories back. Every scream and cry of pain made everyone cringe as if they could feel the pain he was in.
"We shouldn't have let her do this," Klaus growled as he stopped at the fireplace, placing his hands on the mantle as he stared into the fire. "She said it was dangerous—why the bloody hell did we let her do this to him?"
"Because he's always wanted to remember, Niklaus," Elijah closed his eyes for a moment when they heard another scream ripped through the air. "He wants to remember his life."
"She bloody forced him into it." Kol scoffed at his eldest brother. "He didn't even have a say."
"Well, that's because he keeled over on the floor from a bloody aneurysm, Kol." Rebekah rolled her eyes. "She had to, or he would stay in a coma for the rest of his life."
"He's an Immortal!" Klaus growled. "This shouldn't have happened in the first place."
Charlie huffed, his throat raw because of all of the screaming. His skin was clammy and pale as Ester said more Latin, his body lurching upward from the table he laid across.
His memories were coming in waves, making his head pound in agony. He wanted to beg her to stop, but this was what he had always wanted. His body ached, blood poured down his nose like a waterfall, but he couldn't open his mouth to tell her to stop. He had experienced pain, but this was unlike anything he had been through.
Something foreign came onto him, and he freezes up; it's like his body had a mind of its own. His eyes rolled into the back of their sockets, and he passed out, making Ester stop chanting. She tilted her head as she came forward and pressed her thumb to his head, dragging a red substance down his forehead; blood, her blood.
Suddenly, his eyes snapped open, but they're not chocolate brown; they're scarlet red. "Do you know why you were created?"
"To bring an end to the Original family. To end their reign of terror on this earth. To carry out what Michael couldn't finish."
"You must kill my children after they are linked as one. And only then will your work be finished. After it is done, you will kill yourself. There shall be no more Immortals walking among the mortal. The vampires will be no more."
Ester reached out and wiped the blood from his forehead, and Charlie's body went limp once more. A groan escaped his mouth as he sluggishly sat up, his hand pressed to his forehead. "Did Niklaus punch me in the face again? Because it certainly feels like it."
"Your memories have been restored, Charles." Ester laughed lightly as he hummed.
The rest of the Mikaelson's walked into the room to find him leaning against the table, shirtless and hunched over slightly as Ester placed a blanket around his weak body.
"You look like crap," Was the first thing Kol said, making Charlie laugh, clearly exhausted.
"I'm sure I look exactly how I feel." He nodded before he turned to look at Ester with a soft smile. "Thank you, Ester." he took her hand in his. She had never seen someone look so sincere in her life. Guilt filled her, causing her chest to tighten painfully.
"You deserved to remember your life." While you still can.

The tailor had him stand on the stool as he measured Charlie's impeccable leg span. The man had him stand straight with his legs spread slightly while he was shirtless. Elijah was shinning his shoes, Finn was getting a jacket made, Kol was admiring himself in the mirror, and Rebekah was getting her nails done.
