It was late at night. As always, I was bored out of my mind. I studied for a good two hours and there was still time left before it was time for me to go to bed. Yes, bedtime, I have to get onto video calls for my class. Ugh, I hated but liked the video calls sometimes. I hated the fact that we had to go on zoom, and if we're not, that's a whole day missed. But whatever, at least I can wear what I want. Out of the cold and silence, I remembered a time where my friend and I used to have fun.

How we use to touch each other, talk, laugh, just all around be there. It was a cute era for me. God, I wish I could meet her again. I hate that I had to move to college and her parents convinced her to stay. She's always complaining about them I don't understand why she couldn't rebel against them.

I turn on my phone and searched for her contact. I looked between phone call or facetime. I thought of something before I pressed on phone call.

"Channy,"  I say when I hear her pick up the phone.

"What? it's like 10 love, my parents don't want me on the phone" she groans.

"Can we like, call, right now?" I ask.

"uhh, maybe, why didn't you pick the facetime?"

"I just thought about what happens if we like found each other on Omegle?"

"On Omegle, Y/N?"

"yeah.." I say softly, slowing kind of regretting it.

"Like you did with that internet boyfriend you had?" she sounded preppy.

"oh my god, don't even mention please, thanks Channy," I said annoyed.

"My name is not Channy, Y/N" oop, that bothered her.

"I've been calling you that for forever, now you wanna act mad?"

"CHANNEL. My name  is Channel, Y/N"

"Okay, whatever, get on Omegle." I say as I type in "Omegle" into the search bar.

"Are you putting in any hashtags or like topics, or what?" I hear Channel say, getting ready to type.

"Yeah, just put, pizza" I respond.

"OK, See you then." Channel hangs up.

I look at my phone and turn it off. I stare at the loading circle displaying on the stranger's screen. "unable to reconnect" shows up on the screen.

"Ugh, are you kidding me?" I roll my eyes and get up. I walk over to the wifi box that's sitting on the top of my dresser. I shift the dresser back a little bit, exposing the outlet where the wifi box is connected to.

"It's literally plugged in, I don't understand why you are not working" I whispered to myself.

I push the plug into the outlet more, and see the lights on the wifi box flickering.

"No, no, no, right now? You were just working like a second ago." I panic.

When the lights start flickering on the box means no wifi. Usually meant that absences with being to rise, missing work, lower grades, more school. I groan in frustration as I forcefully keep the plug into the outlet. I kept making whining noises, out loud, when I keep seeing the lights flickering. I looked at the plug to see if I was doing right and-

"Hey, it sounds like ur having fun there, wanna explain?" I hear a voice from my laptop say.
