It was a clear and sunny day. The sky is blue and there were few clouds. And the wind is perfect for kite flying.
On my way home, I was really excited to fly my kite. As soon as I got home from my summer piano lessons, I ran into our garage and took my pink butterfly kite. I love pink. As I can remember, I was 7 years old back then.
I ran into the open field a few blocks away from my home and saw many other kids playing with their different shaped kites. Then, I remember Sophia, Sophia Jones, my one and only bestfriend. I searched for her in less than a minute. Then I spotted her with her green mint dress. Oh how I love the matching of the color of her dress with the weather. It gives a cool and fresh feeling.
So I waved at her. We ran to meet each other.
"So, which kite are you gonna use today?", I asked excitedly.
"Uhm, this. An eagle kite. I like tough animals. Hihi", grinning back at me.
We didn't mind much our kites. So we ran and place ourselves in positions to fly our kites. It was one joyous afternoon. I feel like I'm also flying. I really love the breeze of the wind. While flying our kites, Sophia and I were both giggling about funny made-up stories.
Suddenly a 3 shadows blocked our sights. It was shadows of 3 young boys. But they were a bit taller than us and I think they are 1-2 years older than us.
One of them in the middle is Finn Adams. He's the leader. On his right was Dave Emerson and Eugene Smith. Actually, they are a group band called as Rocker Rules. More like a gang band. They're known as the school bullies.
So in advance I know what they're going to do with us. I think they want us to leave in our place.
"Scram girls! Don't you know that this is our spot?", yelled Finn.
I stood up for our defense.
"Then where's your evidence?"
"Under your butt, moron", Finn said sarcastically.
He was referring to the spot where we are sitted. As I looked down, I saw there a mark on the stone that says Rockers Rules.
"So what? You don't own this place. Besides, there's a lot of free space here. You can just move any where else." I uttered confidently.
"We don't want to. We came here first, so first come first serve. So move your butts or I'll kick you out from where you're both sitting at." He said furiously.
"Calm down Finn. You can't treat a girl like that. And besides she's right, we can move somewhere else," said Dave.
I know that Dave is a good person. But he is just being peer pressured because of his friends, especially Finn. That is why he always gets in trouble.
After hearing that form Dave, Finn looked at him. Dave knew what that means. So he just shut his mouth.
"So you ain't gonna move, huh?", Finn excalimed.
"Alright, alright. Geesh. You're so bossy." I made a weird face to him and said run!
So Sophia and I ran as fast as we can. I thought they were going to chase us. But they didn't. I looked back, but they didn't mind us. But then, I realized something. Something I'm not sure of.
I think I like Dave. Because, it was really my first time to hear something like that from him. But, I said to myself that it was just paying respect to girls. But... It's so unusual...
