"I can't believe we're already in high school. Time flies so fast." Said Sophia.

"You bet. 6 years of high school is like 6 days." I added.

Meanwhile, while we are on our way to our classroom I saw Dave. I couldn't believe my eyes. He had grown very tall. In my estimation, he is about 5'9".He's not too fat nor too thin. He has a normal body size. His hair was black and his hairstyle fits him. Thankgoodness it wasn't a rocker's hairstyle. His eyes were very charming. And his lips were like cherry lips. Oh my gosh. I was stunned at the back of my mind. I couldn't say a word.

"Oh look, it's Dave. He's quite good looking. I heard that he is one of the school's heartrob. He sure is handsome," said Sophia

"Yeah." I answered in an uninterested manner.

But the truth is I'm a little bit interested in Dave.

'No Candace, don't fall for him. He may be handsome but he's still a part in group of Finn. Your are not friends him,' I thought in my mind.

So we headed into our new classroom. Sad to say, Sophia is in the other classroom. So we had to separate for the first time. But we didn't mind if we are not in the same class. What is important is that we'll still see each other at break time and lunch time. Distance can't break our friendship.

"Good morning class, I am Mrs. Anna Parker. You can call me Mrs. Parker or Ma'am Anna. I will be your class adviser for this school year. As a little introduction to myself, I graduated from the University of the Great White. I am a major in AB English. I am also a mother of two sons. Any questions?" Said Mrs. Parker

Nobody dared to ask. Mrs. Parker is a medium height woman. I think she's about 5'3". She wears black eyeglasses. She has long brown hair and her skin is very flawless. I think she's still in her 30's. But it's unbelievable that she has flawless skin. She speaks a little bit soft. I had a feeling that she's not that type of hot tempered teacher. But I still cannot say. Because most kind people are the ones who don't know how to get angry. Seriously. That's why when they get angry, they're even scarier than people who always get angry.

Since no one asked Mrs. Parker started announcing some rules. She also mentioned about the clubs that we can join. The policy is that we can only join one club so that it can be equally divided. Of course I had in mind that I will join Music club.

First day of High wasn't that bad. When all class ended. I hurriedly went to Sophia's classroom. I saw her with a frowning face.

"What's happen?", I asked curiously.

"Jenny Jenkins," she said in a quiet voice.

"Oh that horrible spoiled girl. Don't mind whatever she says. What did she tell to you, anyways?" I asked.

"She just embarrassed me after I answered one of Mrs. Collin's question and the whole class laughed." She anwered in a sad voice.

"Oh, never mind. Move on. Don't think what other people thinks about you. As long as your'e not doing anything wrong don't be ashamed. Come on, let's check the school's bulletin." I said.

"Yeah your'e right. Who is she anyway to embarrass me." She said

"That's the spirit! Now let's go." I said

So we both went to the school's bulletin. There we saw lots of different club. I quickly searched for Music club. And it says: 'Glee club. Auditions starts tomorrow 4:00-6:00pm. If interested, go to Music Room located infront of the Speech lab.'

"I'm joining Glee club. What club are you joining Sophia? I asked

"Hm well.... Magician's club?" She answered.

"That's nice. You can learn magic tricks. Well, I would also join there if I were you. It's not that bad. People now adays find for entertainment." I said that to motivate her.

"You've got a point." She responded with a smile.

"Okay, so where are we headed next?" I asked

"I think we better go home." She said.

"Well, okay then. Since we have nothing to do much here at school." I answered.

As we headed home, it started to rain. We have no choice but to stop at a waiting shed. To break the silence, I started telling jokes to Sophia. My jokes weren't that funny but she still laughed. I think she laughed not because of my jokes, but because of the way I delivered. I'm not that good at jokes. But people find me cute when I tell one.

10 minutes had passed and the rain hasn't stopped. Suddenly, Dave passed by. He has an umbrella with him. It's so unusual, because he is a boy and he has an umbrella, while us girls we didn' t even have one. He didn't looked at us. When he was a few meters away, he ran back towards us and left the umbrella on the ground. Then he ran, he ran so fast that we couldn't see him anymore because of the thickness of the rain. We were both shocked at the same time thankful.

"That was weird," said Sophia.

"Yeah, but let's just return his umbrella tomorrow." I said, still shocked.

We went home singing one of our favorite songs 'Country Road.' I know it's a bit corny and old. But the lyrics are nice. It gives a light feeling for us both.
