The portal bell rang loudly though out the small dark house. A man walked slowly down the hall and headed into the living room, which was pitch black and only lightened up by a bright orange light flashing, showing that there was something at the portal that wanted to get in. Portals open to many galaxies, universes, and even times. You never know what is on the other side until you opened the door. Portals can be a dangerous weapon if used wrong. Not everyone has a portal. They are tricky to use and most people end up traveling to different galaxies and are trapped there. The man walked over to the door of the portal rubbing his eyes.
“Do you know what time it is? Do you have any idea-” He said opening the door but stopped quickly at the sight of what was on the other side.
“Hello, Philus.” Said a cold voice.
“M-master?” Philus said in shock and horror. “I thought you were…” Philus stopped and took a step back away from the door.
“So did I.” A man said stepping inside the house not looking at Philus. He walked over to the closest tabled and wiped a finger across it. “Tell me Philus,” He continued, “Did you miss me?”
“Oh, of course!”
“After all these years, you’re still a terrible liar.” The man said in a cool voice. “Do you know why I’m here, my dear friend?” He asked walking around Philus. Philus turned quickly to face the man, sweat dipping down his forehead.
“Umm, nothing comes to mind,”
“Do you remember the night when I died? Remember how you, out of all people, I chose to be my second in command?” He asked, his blue eyes as cold as ice sending chills down Philus’s back.
“Of course. It was an honour,” Philus said closing the door of the portal. “And I would do it again.”
The man sat don in a red velvet arm chair by the hall and rested his feet on the coffee table. “I see,” he muttered just loud enough for Philus to hear. “Philus, I need you. I need your help. You see, I’ve lost something, something very valuable to me. I lost it 20 years ago, on the night. I need it. I’ve been looking and looking. I went to see Reginald yesterday, and do you know what he said?” He said now standing and slowly walking over to Philus. Philus was now shaking in fear. “He said that you, out of all people took it. Is that true?” Philus’s brown hair was wet from sweat and his green eyes were wide and watery.
“M-master-” He began but was cut of. A hand reached out and grabbed his throat.
“Now Phil,” The man said smiling a mean smile that showed his white teeth. “We can do this the easy was or the hard way. Its all up to you.”
“Please,” Phil bagged “I have a family! A wife, Olivia, kids. You wouldn’t let them be fatherless, would you?”
“I need the clock!” The man growled. “Now you tell me where it is or I swear to god, I’ll kill everyone you have ever loved.”
“You were already going to do that. You were going to kill[o1] me the moment I opened the portal.” Phil said. The man looked amused.
“I was only going to kill you. But now you have brought your family into this,” He turned around then with one slick move he pined Philus to the wall and stabbed him with a thin blade that was inside his sleeve. Philus didn’t have time to say anything.
“I will find the clock, and when I do,” He stabbed the blade in more “I will be unstoppable.” The man said in a low, cool voice. He pulled the blade out and wiped it on a cloth as Philus fell to the floor. The man left without another sound.
