Hello! This is my new and first Vampire story! I’m really excited about this one with what I’ve got planned so I hope you will be too!

Chapter One

They say that your life flashes before your eyes when you’re about to die. That you are so fearful of death, you beg for forgiveness as your battle for life ends. But as I look at the man before me, I don’t feel anything at all. As I look into those ice blue eyes I know that I have nothing to be forgiven for. I’m just an innocent human that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I should not fear the man in front of me. Then why do I?

Wednesday 21st January 2015

I shivered against the cold air and pulled my jacket closer around me as I walked London’s streets at night. My head darts to the left as I hear a rustle from the bushes. I physically relax as a fox appears from the noise, looking at me in confusion.

Get a grip I thought to myself

The bitter wind nipped at my bare legs as I headed towards Lava for my best friend’s 20th birthday. As soon as I got wolf whistled at, I knew that I should’ve taken a taxi. I would’ve but I was running late anyway and a taxi would take 10 times longer than by foot, especially in London.

The streets were busy with workers heading home for the day and students just making their way out for the night. I’ve always hated walking around the streets at night as the dark makes everything seem so much more sinister and scary.

As I turned a corner, I sighed with relief as the sign for the nightclub appeared in my line of vision. I hurried my pace, eager to get inside to warmth and safety.

I went straight past all the queueing customers and placed myself right at the front, much to people dismay from the moaning and shouting I got. “Avery Brookes. I’m on the list for Megan Stevens’ party” I shouted to the bouncer over the noise of the crowds.

The bouncer looked at his clipboards, ticked me off and let me in “Thank you!” I said with a sigh of relief

As soon as I walked into the club, the heat hit me in the face. I quickly headed over to the cloakroom and handed my leather jacket in. I smoothed down my jade chiffon dress and slapped a smile on my face. Nightclubs weren’t really my scene but I would do anything for Megan.

I searched the club until I spotted a mass of blonde curls sitting in the private booth in the corner. Her eyes widened with glee as soon as she spotted me.

“Avery! You came!” She exclaimed and pulled me into a hug. It always amazes me how we are such good friends as we are the complete opposites of each other but after 15 years of friendship, we just worked.

“Of course I did. I wouldn’t miss it” I smiled

Megan rolled her eyes “You totally would if you had the chance you lazy ass” she teased. She swayed on her feet with her drink sloshing dangerously close to the edge of the glass “Come and get a drink!” she grabbed my hand a pulled me to the bar.

“How many you had?” I joked as she slumped down onto a nearby stool

“Well you were taking foreverrr so I got started early” she cheered

I gave her a pointed looked “Ugh huh”

“What do you want?” she said as she waved down the bar tender

“I’ll just have a coke” I said to the dazed guy behind the bar. He seemed transfixed by Megan, the men always do. With her innocent wide eyes and curly mane of hair, it was enough to send any guy over the edge. Don’t underestimate her china doll look though. She’s a slut but I love her all the same.
