"Hold on tight, Hermione. I don't want you to fall," you said.
Hermione laughed and she held on tighter to the broom. You flew across the Quidditch Patch and you did a little circle to test it out. This made Hermione screech and laugh right after. You felt great because you missed being in the air again. You let out a triumph yell as you were descending to the ground. Hermione held on tighter because she didn't want to fall on accident. You hovered over the ground for a little while and that gave her a chance to go on the ground. She smiled when she saw that you still had that twinkle in your eyes because you were the happiest you have ever been. You moved your legs from the side of your broom and were on the ground again. You still had your flowers that George gave you and you felt a warm feeling inside. You smiled really widely at Hermione and said, "That was bloody amazing." Hermione laughed and both of you went inside again. You guys traveled the halls all of the way into the Great Hall.
The tables have been moved to make way in the Great Hall to be able to practice for the Yule Ball. You smiled as you saw your friends look at you and Hermione. Hermione grabbed your hand and you both went to the other side going to where Professor Flitwick and Professor Snape was. You and Hermione hurriedly went to Professor Flitwick because neither of you wanted to dance with Snape. You looked across the room and you saw George snickering at you. You smiled at him and you placed your flowers in a safe place so that it wouldn't get messed up. Hermione and you stood right next to Ginny. You smiled at her and she smiled back. George couldn't stop staring at you and you felt color going onto your face. You looked at the ground and you smiled at it. Then you looked back up to make sure that you weren't going to be staring at George the whole time, even though you really wanted to.
"Alright, ladies. We are going to be learning how to dance so, who would like to volunteer?" Professor Flitwick asked.
"Y/n!" Fred and George yelled.
You looked at them and you immediately regretted it. They have volunteered you to dance with Flitwick and when you looked at the professor, you had no other choice. You let out a sigh and walked through Hermione and Ginny. Ginny was snickering and you rolled your eyes at her. She chuckled and you were finally able to go in front of Professor Flitwick. You heard the laughter of Fred and George and you wanted to run out of there. You stuck out your hand to greet the Professor. He awkwardly shook it and you felt even more embarrassed. Professor Flitwick got on a table and he was standing on top of it. He was at least now at least more than half a foot lower than you. You nervously looked around everywhere and you glared at George. George raised both his eyebrows once while smiling. You rolled your eyes and Professor Flitwick was going to start.
"Now, I am going to put my hand on your waist and you put yours on my shoulder," Professor Flitwick said.
You felt your face get red and your ears turned red as well. You heard George's laughter and you let out a desperate sigh. You placed your hand on his shoulder while he placed his hand delicately on your waist. You would rather do anything else than be here but you had no other choice. Professor Flitwick grabbed your other hand and you both stood in place swaying from side to side. You heard George's laughter and you turned around rapidly.
You saw his snickering smile and you smiled at him as well. You turned back to Professor Flitwick and you kept on swaying from side to side. Then, a girl from slytherin said, "Is there any other person who could teach us how to dance? Or at least an example." Professor Flitwick got a little sad but you didn't want to say anything. You continued to sway until Professor Flitwick stopped.
"This isn't working. Do you have a date to the ball? Maybe your date can be a better representative," Professor Flitwick said.
You smiled and nodded. You turned a little to look at George discreetly. He hasn't stopped staring at you which means that he has already heard. "I do have a date. I don't know if he wants to come," you said, not turning back to look at him again.
"Who is it so that I can ask them to show us?" Professor Flitwick asked, getting down from the table.
"It's George Weasley," you said.
This caused a wave of shock through everyone in the side of the room you were in. You looked at Ginny and she smiled at you. "Finally, he made a move. I thought he wouldn't have the guts to do so," Ginny said. You smiled and you turned to see where George was. He was smiling really widely and he moved through the boys to go to the where you and Flitwick were. You felt those butterflies again as he smiled at you. He went behind you but to the side a little bit to show Flitwick that you were his date.
"Very well, now start to dance and pretend that we aren't here," Professor Flitwick said. He moved to the side and went in with the crowd. You smiled and you turned slowly to George. George grabbed your hand and he twirled you around. You chuckled and somehow the lights in the room started to dim. You laughed because this was so awkward for you.
"I told you I will be your best dancing partner," George said.
You chuckled and said, "We have never slowed danced before, George."
He smiled and said, "Then, let me show you that you won't regret accepting me to be your date. Music, please!"
Professor Flitwick ran to the stereo and he pressed a button. You walked a little farther away from George so that people can see how they should dance. Also, you just wanted to make it look how it was going to be like. The strings of the guitar started to play and you were smiling like a fool to George. George extended his hand and you took it. Your hands locked but your fingers never intertwined. You were impressed because that was how you were supposed to do it. He walked closer to you and he placed his hand on your waist. He started to blush and so did you. Thank goodness the lights were dimmed. I don't want him to see me like this, you thought. You smiled as you placed your hand on his arm delicately. He started to sway and go forward and to the side and so on. You smiled because he was actually a great dancer. The song was a perfect slow song and you were smiling at him. You got closer to him so that your arm went around his neck instead. He smiled and he placed his head next to yours. You smiled because this was so sweet.
"Wow, George, you are a really great dancer," you said, as he separated you from him and raised his hand over your head. You slowly walked in a circle as to do a twirl and continued to dance like you were doing in the beginning. You could see the twinkle in his eyes when you smiled at him.
"I told you so, y/n. You should wait to see me in a suit tomorrow," George said and you can see that he winked at you. You chuckled and you let out a happy sigh. "Imagine me in a dress," you said. He smiled and said, "Mmmmm. I never seen you in a dress before." You chuckled at him because he was so ridiculous. "Don't get your hopes up, George," you joked. He smiled and you both continued to dance. The song started to finish and you always felt those sparks every sway you and George did. Then after the song ended, the lights went back up and some of the girls started to clap excitedly. You smiled and George gave you a half hug. You chuckled and Professor Flitwick came and stood in front of you both.
"That was great, now I believe that everyone should have their partners now. Everyone! Grab your partners and let's practice!" Professor Flitwick yelled. Everyone started to get their partners and everyone started to spread out on the floor. You smiled when George still hasn't let go of your waist. "What now, George?" You asked.
"We dance," he replied.
