It's been a year since I last turned 16. What a run. Right now I'm walking past the same concrete sidewalk towards the hospital. Bokuto has an illness, that they won't tell us, but nonetheless we still keep in touch.

I don't talk much to him but when I do it's usually when we're playing mario kart. "Hey, Kenma, we made it" my 'hilarious' best friend whispered. "Do you wanna look around while I talk" "no thanks, I'll just play animal crossing" he looked at me like a mother looks at her child when they don't behave.

"Or I'll just walk around while playing Pokémon go and maybe make a friend" I lie. "Good, but i want you to know that Bokutos room is 473" we say the last part in sync. He gives me a nod and a smile. I start to walk away. Until I spot a ginger kid peeking out of I assume his room. "HEY!" He screams "hi" I make an awkward hand gesture.

"Sorry if this is weird to ask but could you keep me company?" I don't know why I kept talking but "sure" I slowly walked towards his room. Room 385. I slowly sit down beside his bed while he hugged a blanket "so what brings you to the hospital?" The guy with the gown asked.

"A friend." I answer blankly

"I wish I had one" I could hear him sigh then he starts laughing? "Wanna watch YouTube?" I don't know why, but after that sentence we talked for a few hours. I wish I didn't stay if I knew what would come.

We chilled throughout the hours until he asked me a question "do you have a soulmate yet? I just got mine this summer" he seemed happy for someone in a hospital.

"Yeah... i honestly thought I wouldn't get one" I sigh and yell at my self. "Why? Everyone deserves a soulmate, so why wouldn't you get one" he smiled brighter than the sun while my lips slowly turned up into a smile.

I could see the sun go down "KENMA?! KENMA?!" I could hear the door open "KENma oh god NEXT TIME TEXT ME WHERE YOU ARE!" Kuroo hugged me. "It's time to go. "Ok, bye" I half smiled at my new friend.
