I picked up my phone and placed it to my ear. "Hey, Danny"

"Hey Briar, whats up?" He spoke with a grin in his voice.

"Nothing much. Some guy is being a dick and bringing girls over for some intimacy" I glared at Luke who glanced at me.

"Damn, you're holding a grudge I guess?"

"Sure am" I bit out with a sickly sweet smile thrown at Luke before walking by him and dumping my body on the sofa in my livingroom.

"How you holding up, you know, since you got stabbed the last time we met" He let out an awkward chuckle.

I shrugged, picking up the remote and flicking through the channels. "Yeah, I'm doing fine. Let it go, Danny, it wasnt your fault I was stabbed. I brought it on myself by following you."

"Has the police found anything on you yet?" He asked with a sudden seriousness to it.

"I'm just watching the news now, Danny. Hold on" I turned the tv up and watched the news. My eyes were trained on the tv, yet nothing about me popped up. I let out a sigh of relief. "Thank God , nothing. I'm a blank, Danny"

I sat my book down. Looking For Alaska by John Green. Then I looked at the caller ID on my phone, furrowing my brows in confusion. "Aunt Maddie?"

"Hey honey! How are you?" She asked me cheerily.

"I'm fine, thanks. How about you?" I rested back in my bed, pulling my knees up close to me. I smiled to myself.

"I'm just grand. So, honey, do you remember Paul, the man I was dating a few years back?" She asked me nervously, yet she sounded happy.

I sat up suddenly and gasped. "Oh my God. I knew it was going to happen. -No! Oh my God, Aunt Maddie! I knew it would happen!" I squeaked happily.

"It's true, Briar" She laughed. "We're getting married. And I'd like for you to be there! Danny already said he's going."

"When are you getting married?" I asked her, resting against my pillows again.

"That's the thing. We have been organising the wedding for a while now, so it's all ready. It's going to be in a few days" She squealed with excitement.

I gaped. "Where abouts?"

"Well... There's this lovely place a few hours from here-"

"You're coming to me arent you, Aunt Maddie" I grinned to myself.

"Yes!" She squealed loudly, I heard someone laugh from her end of the phone. A deep laugh.

"Sure, I'm definetly going. Wouldnt wanna miss my favourite Aunt's big day, would I" I joked easily, letting out a small laugh.

She snorted. I could imagine her flicking her hair a little. "Not just now, Paul. I'm on the phone to Briar. Wait till I'm off the phone and we can do that" She giggled quietly.

My eyes widened a fraction, and I grinned. "Damn, Aunt Maddie. Getting down and dirty now, already eh?" I wiggled my brows with a laugh. "Anyway, I'll let you go, and you better be having a hen night!" I teased.

"Of course, Briar. Theme is the 1980s. It's tomorrow night! I've rented out a big frat-styled kind of house building for the whole night!" She squeaked.

"What's happening with all the guys?" I asked her, brushing a hand through my hair, then started walking through the house.

"They're doing some things tomorrow night too, dont you worry, Briar" She giggled playfully.
