Mordo and Stephen ran down to the balcony overlooking the entrance to the Sanctum. There, Kaecilius and two new Zealots stood. A ball of pulsating energy stood over them. Kaecilius stood with his hand raised, about to slam it down and do what he had done to the London Sanctum: destroy it.
"We have to end this," Mordo said, worriedly. Using his boots, he vaulted down towards Kaecilius and the Zealots. He grabbed one in a chokehold, dragging her backwards. "Strange!" Mordo shouted up to him. "Get down here and fight!"
Stephen hesitated, then looked back at Peter. If he didn't do something, the Zealots would eventually get both Mordo and Stephen, leaving Peter undefended.
Kaecilius lowered his hand.
"No!" Mordo shouted.
Just as the ball of energy slammed into the ground, another thing happened.
Stephen had transported them all into the Mirror Dimension.
"The Mirror Dimension," he said, the Cloak floating him above the stairs. "You can't affect the real world in here. Who's laughing now?"
Kaecilius only gave him a faint smirk. "I am," he said.
With a wave of his hands, the stairs underneath Stephen folded inwards. The walls started turning.
And hence, episode 2 of "Weird Dimensional Crap" started.
Peter, still on the balcony, shouted for help, as now the balcony was folding into the wall. Stephen, with the help of the Cloak, flew back to get him. As he passed Kaecilius, he snagged his sling ring from his fingers. Then, landing on the ground, he and Mordo ran out the door.
Outside, the entire world was folding and turning, but the city commuters outside the Mirror Dimension kept going on with their business.
Stephen held up Kaecilius' sling ring, smirking. "He's got no sling ring," he told Mordo. "I mean, they can't escape, right?"
Kaecilius and his Zealots walked towards the exit of the Sanctum.
"Run!" Mordo shouted. He took off down the street. Stephen picked up Peter and then ran, for fear that Peter would fall behind if no one helped him.
At the street intersection, it was total chaos. Cars were driving down and up, right-side up and upside down, in addition to the normal left, right, and straight. Roads bended downwards and went in every direction. It was mad.
"Their connection to the Dark Dimension makes them more powerful in the Mirror Dimension," Mordo explained. "They can't affect the real world, but they can still kill us. This wasn't clever. This was suicide!"
Kaecilius and the Zealots neared them. Stephen and Mordo started to run again. Stephen started to open a portal that would lead them out of the Mirror Dimension, but just as it opened and they neared it, the world turned ninety degrees to the right. The road they were running on wasn't the ground anymore. The surface of a bus was.
Inside, they saw an old man chuckling to himself while reading a book. He didn't even notice Stephen or Mordo, or saw Peter waving to him.
Stephen looked up and saw Kaecilius nearing them. They had to run, and run quickly.
With the help of the Cloak, Stephen flew up and landed on a building, running up the side of it. Mordo did the same with the help of the boots. Stephen opened another portal, hoping to make it through this one.
His wish was not accepted.
For when Kaecilius landed on the building, he landed with such force that the building...wobbled? Whatever happened, it made the portal disintegrate.
