Lorin Roche'Spontaneity and Playfulness in Meditation – meditation is part of our survival instincts'

Lorin Roche began meditating in a physiology lab at the University of California at Irvine in 1968, and immediately fell in love with the practice and its benefits to body and perception. He soon became involved in training subjects for the research which included interviewing meditators who seemed to be thriving both in their meditation practice and in their daily life. For the last 50 years Lorin has been teaching a body-based approach to meditation, infused with insights from Tai Chi, Gestalt, Jungian thought, Joseph Campbell, Aikido, and Ida Rolf. Lorin feels that all these disciplines contain insights that are vital to developing a healthy meditation practice for people in Western Bodies. Roche is the author of Meditation Made Easy (Harper 1998) and The Radiance Sutras: 112 Gateways to the Yoga of Wonder and Delight (Sounds True 2014). Lorin and his partner Camille Maurine are the authors of Meditation Secrets for Women: Discovering Your Passion, Pleasure, and Inner Peace (Harper 2001).

Being an effective Thought Manager is key!

David Michie is the internationally best-selling author of The Dalai Lama's Cat series, and The Magician of Lhasa, as well as the non-fiction titles Buddhism for Busy People, Buddhism for Pet Lovers, Mindfulness is Better than Chocolate and Hurry Up and Meditate. His new spiritual thriller, The Secret Mantra, which explores the healing power of meditation, has just been published (October 2020).
