Jimin was nervous going back to his old uni as a drop out, after getting sponsored by a big named brand and making it as a championship boxer, he left everything behind, even you.

He wasn't nervous about what people thought or even who would even recognise him, he was only worried about seeing you.

It had been two years since you had broken up and even though he had moved on to excel in his career, he had still felt guilty about hurting you, he still had feelings for you, but did you? Could you forgive him after all this time?

He was running late and traffic was a nightmare, Jin had texted him that the ceremony had already started and that he was going to miss it, so instead of sitting in traffic, he ran.

Abandoning his car on the side of the road, Jimin started running until he finally reached his old university. The familiar surroundings only bring back memories of you.

Running through the doors of the auditorium he spotted Jin and the others, taking the empty seat beside them as he tried to catch his breath.

"Where is she?" Jimin asked and Jin pointed to the stage, he was so glad he hadn't missed it. Even though he had no right, he was still so very proud of you.

Your hair was cut shorter and the heels you wore made you look more grown up than he'd ever seen you with  your gown draped over your shoulders, he watched as you walked across gracefully accepting your diploma and off the other end.

Jimin's face fell as soon as she jumped off the stage into another man's arms, he couldn't see him, only from the back but he was tall and held her in his arms with care.

"They've just started dating for real, no more 'not so secret" hookups under my roof," Jin grimaced, after watching Jimin's eyes on you.

"So it's serious?"

"Don't get any ideas Hyung!" whispered Jungkook from behind him, "she's not the cheating type, trust me I've tried, turns out she can say no to my cute face" he snorted as Jimin batted the younger away.

"Where's Taehyung?"

Everyone was silent and Jimin looked at them all staring at him like he had egg on his face.

"You just saw him.." replied Yoongi.

"What? where?" Jimin asked.

"With Y/N..."

Jimin stood to leave, he had seen enough until he heard your brother's voice greet you, he immediately stopped in his tracks with his back to you, he hadn't heard you speak in so long.

Jimin felt sick, but you hadn't noticed him yet, he thought it would be best just to walk away and not look back.

"Jimin Hyung is that you?"

Turning to the familiar deep baritone voice he spotted Taehyung stood with his hand in yours, stinging his heart as you smiled innocently at him.

"Hi Jimin." Hearing your voice for the first time in years he had to fight to keep it together. Seeing you being held by the arms he had unknowingly pushed you into broke him into pieces, knowing that once and for all, it was most definitely over.

"Hi." He said lowly, stepping towards the two of you. "Congratulations."

"Thank you." You grinned up at him before turning your focus back to Taehyung. "Congratulations to you too, I hear you've become quite successful."

"Well I wouldn't go that far" he chuckled

"Park Jimin, the Champion" You teased, with a lingering memory in your head from the past.

Scratching his head in embarrassment, Jimin looked between his friends, all of them seemingly moved on without him.

"I better go..."

Walking away from the crowd Jimin's stomach was in knots. Yes he had become successful in his own right but to see that him no longer being around was apparently good for you, it made him feel like a failure.

Letting go of Taehyung's hand you ran to reach him before he walked out the door.

Grabbing his arm as you got closer you swung him around, instantly engulfing him in a tight hug, your familiar scent filling his nostrils as he returned the hug.

"Thank you for coming." You whispered before letting go, Jimin's tears threatening to fall as he watched you walk back to Taehyung who had his hand stretched out to take yours.

Seeing nothing but adoration in his once best friends eyes as he looked at you, Jimin knew it was time to let go.

The only thing that really mattered in all of this is that you were happy.

And he knew Taehyung was the right person for that.
