Chapter 1

I'm used to pain. Broken bones, cuts, bruises, burns, I've had them all.

My pain tolerance is usually higher than a normal person's, but this one, it's worse than I've ever had.

My name is Shoto Todoroki, and this is my story.

Yesterday, we were doing a combat exercise. I was paired up with Midoriya, which was lucky for me, and we got put against Bakugou and Kirishima.

Well, to say the least, Bakugou managed to land a hit on my vulnerable spot, my back.

Time seemed to slow down in that fateful moment, as I fell to the ground. I could hear people shouting, could hear people rushing to my side, but everything sounded muffled, like I was underwater.

Then I became aware. Aware of the pain shooting up my back, of the awkward position I was in.

The one thing I couldn't feel, however, was my legs.

I began to breathe faster, began to panic in the fear that came rushing to me.

"To..."

"Todo..."

"Todoroki..."

"Todoroki, can you hear me?"

I groaned, my head throbbing. "What happened?"

"Does anything hurt?" the voice asked.

"My back..."

The voice took a sharp inhale.

"Oh shit....Recovery Girl is in Tokyo right now, and she won't be back for a week..."

"I can't feel my legs..." I whispered, the fear beginning to fill me again.

"Oh god. Iida! Go get Principal Nezu! He should be in his office! Midoriya! Help me get him into a more comfortable position!"

"On it!" Two other voices shouted.

The voices seemed....familiar....Aizawa~Sensei, maybe? Midoriya too?

"Young Bakugou, you went too far this time."

"Yea, man, that wasn't manly."

"Bakugou, he might be badly hurt because of you!"

"Yea, Kacchan, that was very unmanly!"

"Kacchan.......that wasn't a fair attack. Anyone is vulnerable on their spine, and you directly attacked there, when we said no attacking like that!"

"Can I sleep now?" I asked, becoming aware of the fog clouding my mind.

"No, stay awake for me, ok?"

"All right..." I mumbled.

I don't know what happened, but that was the start of the worst week of my life.
