Stormie's POV

"What do you think?" Avery whispered in my ear. He stood behind me with his chest against my back.

"I um..." I trailed off. "Honestly?" My head arched up to look at him.

He nodded.

"It's a little over the top, don't you think? You have the truck which is only two years old, and you bought it brand new. You also have the Plymouth and now this. Why?" I raised my eyebrows. I turned to face him.

He pursed his lips. "I like cars," he said and shrugged.

I crossed my arms over my chest.

"It's fast," he added.

"Trying to get to Minnesota in an hour?" I teased.

"That's the plan," he said. He smirked and wiggled his eyebrows.

A giggle escaped me. The wind blew my hair in different directions. "It's not like the worst idea you have had. I'll give you that," I said.

Avery put his sunglasses down over his eyes. "Want to go for a ride before your brother gets home?"

"Definitely," I paused, and my smile faded. "Oh, were you talking about the car?"

He laughed. "Damn, and here your brother and I thought we were good at pickup lines."

I smiled. "I learned from the best," I said and shrugged.

We slid into the car, and it roared to life. It had a loud purr sound to it that most muscle cars have. I couldn't say I blamed Avery for wanting this car. It had a touch screen stereo. The dash lights were red, and the interior was black. The seats were leather, and there was a sunroof.

"Damn, can I drive it?" I asked.

He smirked. "Can you drive a stick?"

I took a deep breath and opened my mouth to speak.

"Forget I even said that," he said. He chuckled and rolled his eyes.

I threw my head back and laughed. He back the car out and drove it up the driveway. Avery switched through gears and accelerated. My back hit the seat, and my eyes widened.

"Holy shit!" I guffawed.

He slowed down and chuckled.

"I'm going to assume this is the one you are taking to school," I said.

"Definitely," he agreed.

"So, what is on the list next? You have your truck, Plymouth, and a Dodge Challenger," I said.

He lit a blunt and handed it to me. After coughing a couple of times, he answered me. "I need a jeep."

"A jeep?" I asked.

"Yeah, a big one," he said and nodded.

I laughed. "I like big," I agreed.

He caught the double meaning and snickered. "Would you like me to pull over?"

"You wouldn't in this car," I said and rolled my eyes. "You would be angry as fuck if we messed up your new seats," I recalled when he freaked out that I got red nail polish on the dash of his truck. It wasn't a lot, but he cleaned it right away, and lucky for me, it didn't stain.

The car took a quick turn onto a gravel road.

I gasped in shock. "I was only kidding!" I giggled.

A yellow sign indicated that it was a dead end. After a few trees, there was a turn around spot.

He brought the e-brake up and turned the wheel.
