No new characters in this chapter. But as promised in the first previous chapter, this part will be in the perspective of the new character, Hikari Yami...

I was walking down the street at night, dressed in all black. The stars and the moon were gone. The only thing lighting way was the dim glow of the street lights ahead of me. I looked forward into the dim light and I saw a small figure. It looked like a kid sitting on the ground. "Hey kid- you alright?" I sped up a bit, trying to get closer. As I got closer, it felt like it was going slower. I sped up, and by the time I was in reach of the kid, I noticed that I had gotten smaller. I looked into a very conveniently placed puddle. My eyes widened when I saw that I was a 9-year-old version of myself! It did explain why I felt like I was going slower though. I shook it off, No time to work about that right now. I have to make sure this kid is okay-

I looked at the kid. He looked to be about 7. I was about to tap their shoulder when I recognized the minty-green color of their hair, even though it was a lot shorter. "Caleb..?" The boy flinches and looks up at me. He looked terrified. Before I could even really move, he was clinging to my shirt, crying. I froze for a sencond. I was about to hug him tightly when I was blinded by a bright light- and I woke up. I sat up and looked at the spot on my bed next to me. I sigh a bit and rub my eyes "I had that dream again.." I mutter. I look out the window.

It was a bright, chilly Autumn morning. The leaves were falling, the sunlight peeked through the shutters in a warm glow, and Caleb was screaming again. Wait... crap he's screaming again..

I sigh and get dressed. I lit what I knew was going to be my last cigarette for a while. After a bit I put it out and brush my teeth before going to Usagi's room.

I opened the door and when I looked up, I saw him reading the book I had givin him about a year ago. I smile a little and go over to him. "Caleb." I used a calm tone so that I didn't scare him. But he ignores me. Ah. This bad habit of his is going to get him in trouble one day... "Caleb Usagi." This time there was a bit of edge to my voice. This was only to get his attention.

After he doesn't respond again, I decide to take matters into my own hands. I kneel gown in front of him and make eye contact with him. "Caleb. When I say your name, you respond either by looking at me, or speaking. You know that." I gently grab his chin and pull him closer.

"Let's try this one more time. Caleb Usagi." He replies with a small, cute little squeak of a word. I can't help but smile. "Good boy~ Now answer me this, why were you screaming again today?"

I heard him mumble in a soft, quiet voice "I-I had another nightmare..." I felt my heart sink. I placed a gental hand on his cheek, bringing his attention back to me.

I've known about these nightmares of his for quite some time. They always terrify him, and when I usually come to check on him,  he's shaky and scared. Usually he's crying, no- he's usually sobbing and screaming. It made me wonder why this time was different.

I stand up and sit down on next to him. I then gently pick him up and place him on my lap. I think back to my own dream. I think about the smaller version of the boy in my lap. I look down at him before wrapping my arms around him, pulling him into a hug. After a second I feel him rest his head on my chest and softly cling to my shirt.

I begin to play with his hair. I hear him sigh. "Caleb?" "Hm..?" "Are you going to be okay today?" He shrugs "Alright. That's okay... do you want breakfast?" "In a bit..." I nod and continue messing with his hair, putting it into a long braid that went down to his lower back...

This took quite a while to write. Sorry for the long wait..
