"Dad, I'm home!" I called when I got home. The house was as neat as it could possibly be, books stacked, floor vacuumed, everything in its right place. I walked over to the kitchen, where I found Dad sitting at the bench making dinner. "A hello would be nice."

"Oh, hi Bella." He looked up for literally a millisecond and went back to cooking. He is the only family that lives in this house, and he treats me like nothing. He doesn't like the fact that I'm not the perfect student, daughter or friend, but lets face it; who is these days?

"Nice to see you too." I dumped my school bag on the ground, really obviously, just so that he would notice.

"Pick that up!" He shouted.

"I love you," I smiled and walked to my room. Out of the corner of my eye I was so sure that I saw him say something under his breath, and I'm sure that it wasn't a good thing. I don't know why he hasn't sent me to a boarding school or something yet, because he doesn't even like it when I'm around.

When I reached my room at the other end of the house, I flopped down onto my bed and stared at the ceiling. Could my dad actually hate me? Do I annoy him too much? I miss having Mum around all the time, but I can't get her back. It isn't possible.

Mum passed away four years ago, of lung cancer. That's why I will never ever smoke. I don't want to die the same way she did. What happened to her is the reason that our family has been coming apart. At least I have the most amazing friends, and maybe even a new one, Dane.

I got off my bed and walked to my dark grey laptop, and logged into Facebook. Three new notifications; Brooke Jones and Millie Tran like your status, Natalie Oscar invited you to play Zoo World, and Dane Krenton wants to be your friend. Ah Dane, wanting to be my friend after one day, accept. I logged into Skype, and there he was, Dane, sending me a request. Of course, accept.

I was going to get up and clean my room, but my laptop started to play the music for an incoming Skype call; It was Lindy.

"Hello my little friend!" I looked into the webcam after accepting the call. Lindy looked as if she was not amused. "Oi, bestie, what's up?"

"You know Dane?" She asked.

"Well, yeah, duh."

"Iwentoutwithhimforayear" Wait, what?

"Huh?" I asked, checking to see if I heard correctly.

"He went to my old school," she sighed.

"What happened?" I asked.

"I told him that I was changing schools and he was just like, 'oh, ok, I'll break up with you so we don't have to have to do the whole long distance thing', he didn't even say that he would miss me or that he didn't want me to go or anything." She looked pretty annoyed explaining this.

"Aw, Linds,"

"Please don't let him hang out with us tomorrow?"

"I have to show him around, but I'll hang out with you later. Sorry."

"Okay, just don't get to close to him, please? You don't deserve to be hurt again." She gasped and covered her mouth as soon as she realised what she had just said. She was referring to my ex; Luke. He cheated on me after nearly a year of being my boyfriend. I thought that he was the most perfect guy in the world, then along came Eleanor, the girl that I caught him with. It's been about a month since that but I still get so upset whenever someone mentions him.

"Sorry Bella!"

"It's okay."

"BELLA!" Dads voice made me jump

"I'll call you back Lindy.."

"Okay,"

"BELLA! DOOR!" I'm not deaf, so why does he yell?

"I'M COMING, TAKE A CHILL PILL!"

I stood up and smoothed down my school dress which I hadn't been bothered to change out of yet, and I rand my hand through my very curly dark blonde hair. I walked to the door to see a face that I really did not want to see. Luke.

"What do you want?" I spat.

"I came to say sorry-"

"It's a bit late for that don't you think?!" I was so annoyed, and I thought by now I'd be over it, but no.

"Babe, Eleanor ended up to be a massive idiot,"

"Oh don't you 'Babe' me, and you two are perfect for each other! Idiots,"

"Bella!" He grabbed my hand and looked at me, almost seriously. "Please? Give me another chance? I promise I won't do the same thing to you again!"

I stood there and looked into his emerald green eyes, the same ones I fell for ages ago and he stared back, I smiled broadly and kicked him in the shins, hard. "In your dreams Luke." I glared at him.

"Oww!" He screeched, and my dad came back to see what was happening.

"Did you just.." He started.

"Kick him? Yeah, you proud Daddy?" I grinned my innocent little grin.

"Excuse us for a moment," He said to Luke, and grabbed my arm, dragging me to the kitchen. "Why on earth did you kick him?"

"The freak wants me to get with him again.." I mumbled.

"Bella, you don't kick people, even if you hate them."

"Well I'm not the perfect daughter! I am so sorry that I stand up for myself."

"If you turn out like this as an adult you will not go very far, Bella."

"Wow, inspirational speech, Dad. I'm touched." I rolled my eyes and walked back to the front door where Luke was standing. He looked blank, he had probably heard our conversation.

"You okay?" He asked me.

"Kinda. What about you? You know, with the kicking thing."

"Yeah, kinda."

"Sorry about that by the wa-" I was interrupted by his arms being wrapped around my waist and his lips suddenly pressed against mine. He kissed me. Oh god. My eyes were wide open in shock, and pushed back after a second and put my hand to me forehead.

"Oh my god, Luke."

"Oops?"

"Is this funny to you, huh?"

"N-no, sorry,"

I sighed, "I'll see you at school, bye."

"Bye,"

I closed the door and went back to my room, I didn't call Lindy back, I just changed into my pyjamas and got into my bed and lay there thinking; My dad thinks I'm a failure, I don't know what's going on between me and Luke, and I can't become too good friends with Dane.

It was around 4:30 when I had fallen asleep.
