The Gryffindor common room wasn't as lively as usual this evening. Some of your classmates were gradually coming back from Hogsmeade, pockets stuffed to the brim with chocolate frogs and cheeks pink from the cold. You had taken this opportunity to finish an assignment for Professor Binns, enjoying the quiet and the warmth of the fire as you scribbled some nonsense about Ulric the Oddball on your roll of parchment.

As you looked up to dip your quill in more ink, you were startled to see one of your closest friends hovering over you, looking nervous. "Merlin, Harry Potter! Don't scare me like that."

"Oh, sorry." Harry mumbled, sitting on the sofa beside you. "Say, Y/n, have you been sleeping okay recently?" You frowned, setting down your quill. "I think so."

Harry shook his head. "I've just been having the weirdest dreams recently. I wake up, and it's as if I was there-not dreaming, mind you-but really there."

"How strange. Perhaps you should visit the hospital wing. Could be night terrors." You suggested, picking up your quill again.

"Dean and Seamus said the same last week. I was hoping it wasn't just me and there was some sort of charm in the dorms or something."

"You didn't just wake up, did you?" You asked incredulously, "I thought you were in Hogsmeade with Ron and Hermione."

"Oh, no. I was supposed to get some homework done, but I fell asleep and, well, here I am."

"You're welcome to stay," you joked, "I'll let you watch me write."

Harry smiled. "That's okay, I don't want to bother you. I didn't think anyone would be down here."

"Do you do that often?" You asked, "Go places in hopes of being alone?"

Harry laughed, adjusting on the sofa. "Sort of. I usually don't come here for that, though."

You tilted your head. "So where do you go?"

Harry stood up rather quickly. "If you don't have too much to get done, I could you show you if you like."

Eager to abandon your assignment, you stood up as well, nodding. "Please. Lead the way."

You stepped into the hallway and onto a staircase, ignoring The Fat Lady's obnoxious singing and letting Harry lead you to god only knows where.

After walking for what felt like hours in silence, Harry stopped, closing his eyes.

"Uh, Harry?" You turned to face him, starting to think he was pulling some sort of prank. "What are you doing? Where are we-"

Suddenly, the appearance of a door that hadn't been there just a moment ago cut you off. You gaped at Harry, but he just smiled, holding out his hand for you to take. Hesitantly, you followed him into a crowded room you had never seen before.

"The Room of Requirement." Harry explained, "It presents you with absolutely everything you could need."

You looked up, noticing that not a single area of the room was empty. "How did you find this place?"

Harry shrugged. "It sort of just...found me one day."

You took a few steps forward, venturing into the clutter of things that looked so familiar yet so unfamiliar at the same time.

"Y/n, I-"

You turned around to face him. "Hm?"

Harry cleared his throat. "It's just nice to show someone. Nice to show you, I mean."

You smiled, approaching him. Harry continued. "I feel like we don't really get to be alone much. It's always you and Hermione, or you and Ron, or all three of us, isn't it?"

"I like being with you and Ron and Hermione." You said with a small smile.

Harry starting stumbling over his words. "Yes, well, I-

"I'm joking, Harry. I know what you mean." You started to move closer, so that your chest was almost touching his. "I like when it's just us too."

"You know," Harry said softly, his breath hitched, "I've been thinking about taking you here for a while now."

"Have you?"

Harry nodded, breathing a little more heavily as you moved closer. "I've thought about how nice it would be to be with you, no one else, no distractions."

"Uh huh?" You said, in almost a whisper. Your lips were an inch apart now.

"And how nice it would be," he continued, moving his hand from its spot by his side to snake around your waist, "to feel you so close to me, to feel your skin against mine."

Almost as if by instinct, the two of you lunged at each other. Your hands shot up to grip his messy hair as his drifted lower and lower until he was almost lifting you up by your rear. You hummed into his lips, parting them slightly to take a breath as you rested your head on his shoulder.

Harry didn't hesitate to start peppering the back of your neck in kisses, gently lifting your chin to give you a last kiss before moving to focus on your collarbone. You let out small sounds of pleasure as he went lower, gripping your hips tighter now. Before he could go any further, the two of you heard a loud laugh coming from the hallway.

"Shit." Harry whispered into your chest, lifting his head. "They must be back now." You leaned in to kiss him, unwilling to move. He kissed you back, softer now, placing his hand on your cheek before pulling away. "As much as I hate to say it, we should probably go, Y/n."

You nodded reluctantly, pulling your hands away from where they rested on his neck and fixing your blouse. "Harry?"

"Mhm?"

"Do you think we could, uh, refrain from telling Ron and Hermione? It's only...well, you know how Ron is, and if the twins find out-"

Harry placed a small, tender kiss on your lips. "I get it. Trust me, I don't enjoy the relentless teasing either." He smiled, extending a hand for you to take. "Let's head on back, shall we?"
