I woke up with a start from my dream. It was still night time I groaned and laid back down. Sadly me jolting up woke Elena. She rubbed her eyes and looked at me, her lilac color laced with worry.
“Percy…” she whispered carefully, trying not to wake Tyson who was snoring away, “are you okay?”
I nodded, “yeah just a dream.”
“What happened?”
“I dreamt of Grover, he was wearing a wedding dress again, but this time I could talk to him. He said that I had to hurry then a loud voice came in yelling about something being ready in ten days. I think that’s how long we have to save him.”
“Were you in a cave?” she asked.
I nodded, “I got a glimpse of the monster. It was a cyclops.”
I felt Elena nod, her head on my chest, “I think I know what it is but…” she yawned, “It’s too early. We’ll talk about it more in the morning.”
I smiled, “Sounds good.” I kissed her head.
She nuzzled closer to me, soon her breathing evened out and she was asleep. I closed my eyes and after a few minutes of straight silence I fell back to sleep.
I opened my eyes as the sunlight was leaking through the cabin windows. Elena had moved over to the side a little, her face buried in a blanket cocoon and her right arm flung across my chest. I smiled, she looked so peaceful in her sleep, I was worried that things would be awkward between us since we hadn’t seen each other that year. But we got off without a hitch, her golden hair fanning out in different directions. I reached my hand over and tangled my fingers in her golden locks.
“I can feel you staring.” she said.
I chuckled, “I’m not staring, I’m admiring.”
“Your admiration is creepy.” she countered as she opened her eyes.
“Whatever you say.”
She rolled her eyes and hovered over me. She kissed me and my whole body turned to putty, she pressed her hands against my chest. She always had this effect over me whenever we kissed. Every single time my body would turn to putty and my mind to mush. The horn blew signaling breakfast, we pulled away. Elena groaned in annoyance and threw her head onto my shoulder.
“What the hell?” she mumbled.
I laughed and kissed her forehead, “C’mon let’s go get food.”
“I’ll meet you out there.”
I nodded and got Tyson up, him and I got changed before we left Elena alone. Five minutes later she came out of the cabin. Her golden hair was in a tight ponytail, her orange CHB t-shirt was tucked into her denim shorts. Even with second degree burns on her inner thighs she still managed to look like a knockout. When Tyson sat down at my table I kept getting weird looks and snickers. I felt embarrassed and mad at Poseidon for just dropping off a brother. I was no longer the guy who saved camp when I was twelve. Or the guy who’s dating Elena Holt; the strongest camper. I was now the guy who had a monster for a brother. Elena came over and kissed me cheek, I turned bright red and she giggled.
Tantalus wasn’t kidding about torture, for the next three days he made sure Elena had most of the physical activities. If it wasn’t for her being a little heat resistant she would’ve been burnt to a crisp on the rock wall. He also pinned her up against Clarisse, CLARISSE for Hades sake during a sparring session. Annabeth and I got into an argument so she didn’t want to work on the chariot with me. Elena told me she wasn't going to participate in the games, she wanted to do border patrol during her free time. Clarisse and her were actually working together and formed a group of campers to do night time check ins instead of sleeping. The past three nights had been her hardest, she would come stumbling into the cabin and collapse to the bed. Most days she’d be so tired she’d sleep through breakfast. I snuck her some food so she’d be able to eat when she would wake up. When Tantalus was working Elena to near exhaustion I wanted to ring his neck. On top of that when I tried telling Annabeth about my dream of Grover she just brushed it off and said I was trying to distract her. Tyson and I finished the chariot, it was blue rimmed with metal figures that he made with Beckendorf. We chose two white horses and they were so scared when Tyson climbed into the chariot.
