Yep, ok. Couldn't wait. Besides, we can celebrate Christmas all year round! We don't have to wait until the day after we carve the turkey.

(You can skip the first stanza of the song if you want, because Varian gets straight to the upbeat part, making it even more comical. At least, it does to me.)

"Ok, Ruddiger. Rapunzel asked for a Christmas list." Varian picked his cat up and his pet looked him in the eyes. "What do I want? Well... I mean... something I really, really want in a decent price range."

The car purred, rubbing his head against Varian's face. "Not helpful, kitty," he chuckled. "If I'm being honest, there really is only one thing I want right now..."

Varian was jumping on his bed, singing into an old fashioned hairbrush-microphone. He made exaggerated singing expressions. This song was for Cassie.

"I don't want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need
And I-
Don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree."

Varian shook his finger.

"I don't need to hang my stocking
There upon the fireplace
Santa Claus won't make me happy
With a toy on Christmas day."

Varian jumped off his bed.

I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is you
You, baby!"

He slid across the wooden floor on his knees.

"I won't ask for much this Christmas
I won't even wish for snow-"

He jumped back onto his feet.

"And I-
I just wanna keep on waiting
Underneath the mistletoe

I won't make a list and send it
To the North Pole for Saint Nick
I won't even stay awake
To hear those magic reindeer click."

Ruddiger sat on the bed, watching him intently.

" 'Cause I just want you here tonight
Holding on to me so tight."

Varian wrapped his arms around himself, still singing into the hairbrush.

"What more can I do?
Oh, Baby all I want for Christmas is you

All the lights are shining
So brightly everywhere
And the sound of children's
Laughter fills the air

And everyone is singing
I hear those sleigh bells ringing
Santa won't you bring me
The one I really need
Won't you please bring my baby to me quickly!"

Varian jumped back on his bed, bouncing like when he started.

"I don't want a lot for Christmas
This is all I'm asking for
I just wanna see my baby
Standing right outside my door

I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
Baby all I want for Christmas is-"

Varian gasped in surprise, stumbling off his bed as his door opened. He immediately hid the hairbrush behind his back, his face turning a bright red as he cleared his throat. "Oh... Hey, Dad! You're uh... you're home early!"

"Yes, and... uh... my co-worker sent a casserole..."

"Cool," Varian said.

"I just wanted to say it was ready when you are."

"Thanks, I'll be there in a minute."

"Ok." Quirin closed the door.

Varian plopped down on his bed groaning with embarrassment. "Why do I do this to myself?"

Ruddiger hopped on top of the boy's stomach and laid down on it purring. "Not helping, buddy."
