chapter 2

felix, eric, and soojin all walked in on seolhyun napping on her large bed frame. "do i wake her up? i know she wants to go to PE today." eric asked.

"yeah. we should change and then we can head to the gym." soojin said.

eric tapped seolhyuns shoulder. "wake up bitch." he said. seolhyuns sharp nails sunk into eric's hand. he jumped back with a loud "OW".

"sorry." seolhyun said as she approached him. "you should cut ur nails bro." felix said, looking at the bruise seolhyun gave him two days ago. seolhyun laughed slightly at the memory of that.

"it'll go away, calm down." she said as she helped eric off the ground.

"get changed yall. gingerbread man will get angry at us for being late again." soojin said as she went into the bathroom to get changed.

"get out!" seolhyun said to the boys in the dorm. they obeyed and seolhyun hurried to change into her PE shorts and t-shirt. she put her hair in a bun, how she would put it when dancing.

she reapplied her deodorant and put chapstick on. in the mirror, she quickly checked if her sharp fangs were sharp enough to bite people and tried biting herself.

just then the boys knocked on the dorm. soojin had also just left the bathroom. "come in!" soojin said.

"girl what the fuck." eric watched as seolhyun was fixing soojin's hair. "it's PE, not a the winter ball." felix said.

"speaking of the winter ball, it's coming up in like a several weeks. get ready for seolhyun to get all the promposals." soojin laughed.

"i don't really want to go this year if i'm just gonna keep going with eric. no offense dude." seolhyun said. eric pretended to start crying.

"you should come. just go with eric and then go around and party." soojin said. "i'm feeling attacked." eric said.

"y'all it's almost passing period. let's hurry and go." felix said.

they all left the dorm and as they were walking, felix said "you know, sometimes i forget that erics a prince to be."

"girl shut up. we've been friends for years." he replied as they entered the gymnasium.

the gym had many students chatting. mostly the royals. as seolhyun entered, there was a blast of confetti.

"choi seolhyun, will you please accompany me to the winter ball this year?" the royal, na jaemin, son of belle and beast, exclaimed loudly. jaemin was a sweetheart, everybody loved him. but seolhyun went for rebels.

whispers were floating around the large gym. "she's gonna reject him watch." a boy whispered to his friend, entertained.

changmin sighed and watched as the girl rejected the boy silently.

"i'm sorry jaemin, but i don't think i'm going this year." seolhyun said. she clung to soojin's arm as she did when she was nervous or scared.

"it's fine. i'll see you hopefully in the same team later." he said with a smile. felix sighed and lead them to an empty spot in the gym, eyes following them.

"wait until your mother hears about what you did. she's going to be so proud." a royal yelled at seolhyun from across the gym with people laughing. seolhyun never wanted to be like her mother, she did like having the qualities of a cat, just not the "making people feel worthless through jokes" quality.
