chapter 4

as they entered the cafe, the three other friends of seolhyun immediately saw and almost screamed.

soojin slammed her hand against her mouth when she saw their hands.

"what the fuck?" felix said, amused.

eric was too busy squealing in happiness.

"hi there." changmin greeted, his and seolhyuns hands still locked. they were all speechless.

they were treating this as if seolhyun had just gotten a boyfriend. actually, they'd be causing hell in the bakery if she ever DID get a boyfriend.

"oh, here! sit next to me!" eric said, pulling a chair over from the empty table next to theirs.

"changmin!" the mad hatter approached his son with a big hug. "oh, ive missed you! you were supposed to visit me during tea time on a wednesday afternoon two and a half weeks ago! what happened?" he said confusingly.

"i was busy with school, sorry." changmin replied, barely hugging back. "ah, i see you've made new friends with mrs. cheshire! where's chanhee?" he asked.

"chanhee's in the dorm, napping. and we kind of are friends i guess. seolhyun just invited me to come eat here with her and her friends." changmin replied, getting out of the hug.

"what a shame.. we have chanhee's favorite cake made here today! i'll put some in a container for him on your way back to the school." the hatter hurried off into the kitchen.

changmin sighed.

"do you not like your dad?" felix asked. "no... yeah. he's just so.. mad." changmin said quietly. seolhyun nodded with an "ohh" expression.

"changmin, we're both crazy too." she whispered. "yeah, but we can change that, can't we? we can rewrite our own stories." he smiled, whispering back.

seolhyun and changmin were both from wonderland, born and mostly raised until they were forced to leave since wonderland had gotten too out of hand.

the wonderland kids that had to leave included, seolhyun, changmin, chanhee, kevin, and several other kids. they had all gone through the rabbit whole to ever after high. although they're now in different friend groups, they all have a special bond together, as they spent about 2 weeks together in the first time when going to ever after.

"so, you dance?" felix said. "yeah.." changmin replied with confusion. "that's cool. but do you know how to skate?" eric asked, bored. "not really, i haven't really rode at a park. just by myself in the enchanted forest." he replied.

seolhyun and soojin watched as the boys chatted. seolhyun hoped he could get changmin and chanhee into hanging out with them and soon joining their friend group.

"what's chanhee doing at the dorm?" seolhyun asked, taking a sip of her water.

"sleeping. i think he might be up by now." changmin said. just moments later, he got a call from chanhee.

"where are you?"

"my dad's cafe."

"bring me back cake. be back soon." the boy on the other line said and hung up before changmin could reply.

soojin snickered.

"i'm tired." seolhyun said.

"get yourself some coffee or something." changmin said, handing her some money.

"wow, you're giving me money?" she smiled.

"yes. get me some boba or something too." he said.

seolhyun sighed softly and left to the cashier.

"one iced vanilla latte and a.. strawberry milk tea with boba please." she said politely, trying to remember what flavors changmin likes.

soon, the drinks were finished. she took them and hurried back to the table they were sitting at.

she walked in on them just talking about school.

"thank you." changmin said. "i'm gonna nap for a bit. wake me when you guys are leaving." seolhyun said, laying her head on her folded arms that rested on the table.

she soon fell into a deep sleep.

seolhyun awoke to changmin tapping on her shoulder. luckily, his hand was not given another claw mark.

she awoke to his zip up jacket around her back, with the hood slightly put on her head.

"what's this?" she said happily as she took the jacket off.

"the other two left. it got cold quickly in here and my dad went home. i was just letting you sleep for a bit longer, since you looked really tired. also, you look pretty when you sleep." changmin explained.

"i look pretty when i sleep... thank you, changmin. i've never been told that before." she smiled at him.

"so do you wanna walk back to the school or take the bus?" changmin asked shyly.

"let's take the bus since it's getting late." she replied, grabbing her backpack and her other stuff.
