My heart pounded incredibly fast as I stayed hidden behind the fallen rocks. Nothing had been left after his failed execution. A man sentenced to 967 years in jail. When he first came in he was in a straight jacket with hardly anyone guarding him. His head was placed under the guillotine with only two men guarding them. That was their first mistake.

Two guards and a straight jacket? Did they really expect something like that to work?

Thousands of people watched waiting in the stands. It was a public execution and the people were excited. Oh how fast their excitement fell.

The lights had flashed a few times and a nervous atmosphere began to settle amongst the guards. A countdown began on a floating screen above them and the people began to count along,

"10...!"

It was not everyday we got to see an Akudama with 967 years about to be executed.

"9...!"

I wasn't interested in watching him die though. Something had drawn me to this place.

"8...!"

Or maybe it was just the cat I had followed down the road.

"7...!"

I held the cat close in my arms snuggling into it as I observed. The man with 967 year hadn't even flinched. The more the time ticked down the more the nervous atmosphere increased.

"6...!"

The guards had stiffened up and you could see the one holding the rope attached to the guillotine with a shaky hand.

"5...!"

This man had killed exactly 999 people. The rumours were that he would cut their heads off with a knife. It was frightening knowing he had killed so many and only now was caught.

"4...!"

The people were getting more excited. When the countdown had reached four the crowd had gotten even louder. The lights flashed once more and my eyes grew wide.

"3...!"

His head moved up slightly to look up. He could see? Even with the blind fold covering his eyes?

"2...!"

A shiver ran down my spine. It felt like he was smiling through the mask covering his face. It seemed the crowd wasn't the only ones excited.

"1...!!"

The moment the crowd screamed one the room went dark. It was incredibly difficult to see now. A slicing sound was heard throughout the room and the people screamed in excitement. I squinted my eyes as they slowly adjusted to the darkness. The guillotine had fallen down, but something wasn't right.

When the lights had finally flickered back on I stared in shock at the guillotine. He had escaped, but not before putting a guard in his place. The straight jacket had been completely ripped off leaving him in a long white overcoat.

He sat on top of the guillotine with a small smile plastered on his face. The chief of police head laid on the floor and the guards had fainted.

Once the crowd had gotten over the shock of things they began to let out screams of shock. Robot guards began to emerge from hidden doors as a look of shock crossed his face.

The cat sitting in my lap startled had jumped away. As everyone began to run out I couldn't help but watch the cat. Even though it was dangerous, but my mind was already made up.

As the cat ran towards the center of the room I knew what I had to do. I had to save that cat!

I nervously began to chase after it as people ran by me pushing and shoving. The building was beginning to collapse because of the robots. They were shooting lasers everywhere trying to catch him, but he was able to avoid them all, gracefully dancing around with his knife twirling in his hand. As he avoided the robots he began to kill people as well. People were losing their heads and being crushed by the building. I was beginning to feel sick to my stomach.

The cat stood at the end of the stairs when it finally stopped.

"Come here kitty kitty kitty..." I whispered reaching my arms out to try and grab it.

Once I had the cat safely in my arms a proud smile sat on my face.

"Come on lets go home now."

As I stood up straight and turned around I felt myself freeze in my tracks.

My lip quivered in shock and for a second time had froze.

"Red I really like red, but pink is okay too."
