Prologue

A Life Without You

"I'm Killua."

"I'm Gon!"

"GOOOOONN!"

My voice echoed throughout the forest. I saw my best friend's head turn to look at me, with what looked like tears.

..His eyes, which were normally a fiery brown, are now a dull, darkened, lifeless brown. Even with the fiery light coming from his charging attack, they were still incredibly dull. The fire coming from his ripped arm swirled around and extinguished itself.

I watched through cloudy eyes as my best friend collapsed to the ground. Splashes of blue blood could be seen behind him, on the ground, and on trees which have both been destroyed. I felt something feather-like touch my ankles. I looked down and saw hair. My best friend's hair.

My eyes widened as I looked over to him.

"Gon.."

I walked over to his limp body stepping over the dark strands of hair and plopped down. I could feel the tears start streaming. I watched my best friend, who is now back to normal size, look at me for a quick moment, and then closed his eyes. I picked up the top half of his body and pulled him close to me. There was blood everywhere, both his and the cat's. Especially blood from his half-arm. I had gotten it all over me, but I don't care.

    All I care about, at this moment, is him. I close my eyes and lay my chin on top of his head, slightly hugging him. Did he really feel that much pain and rage that he used all of his nen, just to get revenge?

"What happened to you.. Gon.."
