Stella Allen.
I hurried on over from my room to the bathroom and looked at the robe around my body through the mirror. A groan escaped my lips as I grabbed my phone as turned it on checking the time.
6:48pm
Ugh. Where was Carla when I needed her the most? The dinner was in an hour and I still hadn't done my hair or makeup. I walked out of my room furious and sat in the sofa in the living room, crossing my hands over my chest, just as Matthew came out of his room, formally dressed in a suit and tie, with his hair slicked back.
"Oh, don't we look handsome tonight?" I said and smiled at him, which made him smile back until he realized I wasn't fully dressed.
"Why aren't you dressed? Where's your dress? Where's your makeupy face?" He babbled and I groaned, laying face down on the couch.
"Stella, you have to go" He said above me, patting my head and poking it.
"I'm waiting for Carla" I mumbled to the couch, just as the doorbell rang. I got up as quickly as I could and went to open the door.
Carla was always late for one reason or the other. She smiled at me, her perfect teeth showing and contrasting with her red lipstick. Ignoring my frown, and that she was late, she hugged me and took my hand, leading me to my room.
"Okay, no need to be mad at me" She said simply and she sat me on a chair in my room. "Hm...put on the dress first" She suggested me, hence she was the fashion expert and most probably wanted to see the dress before she decided she hated it. I stood up from the chair and grabbed the dress, going into the bathroom quickly and putting it on. It was beautiful and I didn't even knew I owned it until I was cleaning up my closet last month. It was up to my neck, with the sleeves cut and had a black lace pattern on top of the nude colored dress. As soon as I came out of the bathroom, Carla smiled and shook her head.
"You look beautiful, hun" She said softly, making me smile and sit in the chair once again.
She did my makeup light, a bit of eyeliner and light pink lipgloss. My hair was twisted at the sides and just let loosed.
I came out of my bedroom with my purse and Carla following quickly behind. Matthew was on the couch, tapping nervously on his phone.
"Your brother is telling me where-" He cut himself off when he looked up.
I blushed as a silence fell in the room and I cleared my throat.
"You look really beautiful, Stel" He smiled as he got up from the couch and I wrapped my hand around his arm.
"Have a goodnight, I'll probably be hanging out here when you guys come back home!" Carla called as we went out the door.
"Thanks, Carla" I said and waved goodbye, walking down the steps of our apartment and into Matthew's car.
--------------------------
As Matthew arrived to my aunts house, the chauffeurs looked down on us and Matthew's poor excuse for a car, and it made me realise how rich my family actually was. My family was the owner of a firm company that had been in the family tree for decades. My mother had everything planned for me, if I continued my prestigious studies, I would've ended up at Yale, where I probably would've studied to be a lawyer, under my mother's control. Sadly for my family, it took an unexpected turn when I didn't want to continue into the fancy family business, and rather go study art at NYU. Ever since, my mother and I haven't been much on talking terms.
I got out of the car and one of the chauffeurs quickly came and took it away as I grabbed onto Matt's arm once again, our appearance not really matching the car.
