Chapter 1.
I was running. I didn't stop. I couldn't. I could hear his feet stamping as he ran after me down the dark alleyway. I didn't know what I could do to stop him, he was gaining on me.
Why me?! I think. I don't deserve this! I silently pray that he won't catch me. As I run, the alleyway begins to darken.
Oh no, is there a dead end? There is. I need to find a way out of here. Of course, I can't stop running, he will catch me. So I do the only thing I can think of. I turn around and slide under his legs, confusing and halting him for just enough time for me get back up and start running again. This time, I turned towards the main highway. I hear a beep, and the man slows down behind me, but I don't think about it because i'm sure he's still chasing me.
While i'm ahead, I hope that Jennie and Kate are ok, they probably got away, for the fast one chased me. I start to go over what happened in my head. We were going to see No Hope in 3D. The movie theatre was just a few blocks from my house, so we had walked instead of mom driving us. Bad idea. We were walking, and 3 men in all black starting jogging behind us. They told us to stop. We didn't, we split up to make sure they couldn't catch us.
Then I remember. My cell phone! Its been in my pocket the whole time. I'm getting tired. I gotta stop. I turn around, and the man is gone. So I cautiously turn around and search the alleyway for the man, in case he's hiding, waiting for me to stop. He isn't there. I whip out my phone and decide I should call Jennie and Kate to make sure they are okay.
I quickly scan through my contacts and find Kate's name. Ringgg, ringgg, ringgg, ringgg, ringgg. Her voicemail comes on.
"Kate?" I say in a scared and rushed voice. "Kate, please call me! Where are you? Are you ok? Are you with Jennie? Where are you?!" I hang up. I am scared now. I jog out of the alley, making sure I don't look too panicked. I call Jennie as fast as my shaking fingers can handle. Ringgg, ringgg. Jennie answers.
"Ally, are you okay?" Jennie is scared too, I can hear it in her voice. She is never scared.
"I'm fine, are you okay? Are you with Kate? I tried her number, she didn't pick up."
"Yeah, yeah, i'm okay. Oh god, no, i'm not with Kate. We split up too. Where are you, Ally?
I am really scared now. Where is Kate? Oh god, I hope she's okay. "Umm... I'm... umm, you know where the alley is?" "Yeah." "I'm there. Right where it opens up. Jennie, I'm scared."
"Okay. I'll be there in 5." She takes a deep breath and I can hear her begin to run. "Yeah. I'm scared too."
